How to install expansion packs? :( [SOLVED]

Hi! I got my sims 3 base game from a cd but not the official one(I also bought into the future). I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TO INSTALL EXPANSION PACKS FROM HERE. Please help, because in the *MUST READ* it only says to "install" it. But I don't even know HOW. Sorry if this is posted, it's just that I don't have much time to read all of them since it is school days. Thank you if you will answer! Smile

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about your time pressure, but at one point or another, you WILL have to read those important guides, otherwise, you will run into problems, but I'll try and make it a little bit easier for you.

After you install the base game, please try downloading the LATEST manual patch, and after the download is finished, double-click on that huge file. Get the manual patch here:

Next, when you download expansions from here, they are in the .RAR file format. You need to open the .RAR files with the program "WinRAR". Get it here (install instructions are included):

Then...you make an empty folder somewhere. Name the folder, for example "The Sims 3 - Island Paradise", to make it easier. You now open the .RAR of the Island Paradise expansion with WinRAR. You MARK all the contents inside the .RAR with the mouse (alternatively you can also press Ctrl + A to mark all items). Then you "drag" the marked contents out, into the empty folder named "Island Paradise". Now you go to that folder, and double-click on the "autorun.exe" and follow the instructions. If you need a serial number, look into the "Installation guide.txt" file, in the folder. Follow the on-screen instructions for the installation of that expansion.

When you're done, do the other expansions in the same way, so again, make another NEW folder, this time for example called "The Sims 3 Supernatural", extract all contents of the Supernatural .RAR into that "Supernatural"-folder, and install with the "autorun.exe".

As you are finished with all expansions, re-apply the "manual patch". At the end, you do steps #2 and #4 here:
