Updates and Island Paradise

Hi. This is my first time posting so I apologise in advance if I've made a mistake with it (which section and the like).

I've seen other threads here with the same problem as I do which is a pop up showing up saying "the game version is not updatable and is not compatible with the Sim 3 island paradise" whenever I try to install island paradise.

I tried double checking the serial number that it was the same as the one in the downloaded file's installation guide text file like this one guy did. I also tried to update my game but my launcher says my version is up to date. It was then that I noticed that the version stated in my launcher is 18.0.126.021001. Is that normal? Cos the most recent version I've seen from other people is 1.67.

Admittedly though, I did download my base game and other EPs from other sources but I did download the Seasons EP from games4theworld and the installation and actual gameplay for seasons gave me no problems.

Sorry this post was long, I'm just pretty confused. Haha. Any insights would be really helpful.

I wouldn't like to say anything stupid but you can update to 1.67 and install + crack after 1.67

I don't use Games4theWorld sources but this is how I'd do it if I had your problem. I'd update to 1.67 than install, update again and finally crack ( if Island Paradise is the last thing you want to install )

May i ask how i can do that? on the launcher, my game says it's up to date.

First, you'll need the patch 1.67 - you'll find it here : https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t3597-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v167-fix-manual-patch

Choose whatever links you prefer.

Than, you apply the patch on your game ( if you have crack your game, remove your crack, place the original files back )

Once that is done, install Island Paradise.

Patch again after installing Island Paradise.

Crack using the crack for 1.67

Done
