Mounting Guide. [SOLVED] Empty Mounting Guide. [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Wed 20 Aug 2014, 11:50

Before I get started, I just want to let you know, coffee > tea. So I refuse to check ANY of these boxes  Evil or Very Mad
Mounting Guide. [SOLVED] Ad78644dd28836d2abe255c2daa2993c

Now, onto my problem at hand -
I've done this all before, but apparently I forgot everything, cause I'm not sure how to mount the discs. I tried double clicking/burning it, but it legitimately tries to make me use an actual disc for it, and I don't have one. Moving on, it said there is a free mounting guide I can ask for, if there's a tool to mount the discs and such, I'd like it very much.
Please, and thank you!  Smile

Hello,

Are you trying to install the base game of The Sims 3 ? That's one of the (few) releases of G4TW that are in the .ISO file format.

Basically, when you install a mounting program like DaemonTools or PowerISO, you will get the choice to create so-called "virtual drives". These virtual drives will show up along your "real" physical optical drives (in Windows, press CTRL + E, to show all the hard discs and drives).

Then, if you right-click on an .ISO file, look for an option like "mount image to...". Depending on what mounting program you use, the specifics are different, but the basics are the same. So once you choose the virtual drive, the installation program will either start automatically, or you can simply go to "computer", and then double-click on the virtual drive which has the image mounted.

That's the official mounting guide then. Smile  Keep in mind that you cannot solely have the base game in Sims 3 installed; if you use the included #crack, you are basically playing with an outdated game. Please read this guide here too:

https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

After you installed the base game, please do step #2 (manual patch). And THEN install at least one of the expansions from step #1. Next, re-apply the manual patch (even if it says your game is updated already !).

The last steps are steps #3 and #4 from the guide. The guide should be pretty straightforward, but let me know if you need more assistance. Good luck for now ! Smile

//EDIT

About the tea vs. coffee thing...the forum Admin is very fond of tea, hence there is no choice of coffee... Razz

I'm not sure what you did or what's happening on your computer, but are you familiar with "TeamViewer" ? If not, read up on the information here:

http://www.games4theworld.org/contact.html

If you agree on that, please PM me your TeamViewer ID and password. If not today, then try catching me on the forum's chatbox, sometime, and then we'll see further. Smile

//EDIT

In Daemon tools, after you double-click on the .ISO file, it will mount automatically, and a small window should show up. In that window, select "run autorun.exe". Or you can double-click on the virtual drive (under "Computer"; you can also press Windows key + E to get to "Computer"). Then the installer should start too. If for some reason that doesn't work for you; try catching me on the forum's chatbox, sometime around, for arranging a TeamViewer session...

Mounting Guide. [SOLVED] Empty Re: Mounting Guide. [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Thu 21 Aug 2014, 02:14

Thanks again to Carlos for helping me, one last thing though - After I got everything all installed and such, everytime I open one of the many launchers, it says that there was an error during start up. So I'm assuming I did something wrong somewhere, but if someone would be so kind as to help, I'd be very grateful!

EDIT: Carlos fixed this problem, too! Many thanks!

Mod edit: problem solved, topic closed.
