Can't Install EPs!

Hello guys, 
 
 
I dowloaded the base game + all EPs from games4the world and followed "The Sims 3 Mac Installation Guide" by Dieneryn step by step; I managed to install the base game and the Into The Future EP all right, but I cannot seem to install any of the others!
I'm following the same process as for the Into The Future EP, but when I finally click on the EP installer and give authorization for it to open, the icon just bounces once and then nothing happens 
 
I don't understand since the method is the same I've used for the one EP I managed to install, and I've checked my steps carefully several times to see if I forgot something.
 
Can you guys please help?

Ps. I've seen the topic before mine about the same problem, but I am using Stuffit Expander so that's not the solution in my case

Hi there, the problem is that you need to install the EP in release order!!

Please do a clean uninstall and redo everything. This is going to be a tedious process. >_<
In addition, if the bouncing off icon reoccur again, then you need to remake the .dmg, because it can get corrupted during the process.

Oh no, it took me like two hours and 3 tries to get the base game installed yesterday, ahah >.<
But how come I was able to install Into The Future as a first EP, not following the order? 

BTW, would you  know why the base game couldn't upgrade the first two times I tried?
It started dowloading (suuuper slow!) and then at some point it would interrupt and say it could not complete.
The third time I tried it took 1 hour and a half but at least it went through.

If you install on Into the Future as EP, than it doesn't ask for an order
As mac user, we have to be careful with The Sims, it is a bit picky. Not everyone would recommend to install per order but I'd suggest you follow intropella's advice.

It will take time but in the end, you shall have a clean install

The first EP you install will be the first on the list, then you have to install in order afterwards.
Example: If you install "Into the Future" first, then the next installation order would be "The Sims 3: Roaring Heights".
Another example is: If you install "The Sims 3: Late Night"  first, then you can install other EP after Late Night, such as "
Outdoor Living Stuff" That means you cannot install EPs that were before "Late Night" such as "World Adventures".

As coffeejunkie said, mac is very picky and it will only work if you follow in order. I don't know why, but that's how it roll.
The upgrading part is tedious as well, I had the same problem so I believe it's a 'normal' behavior for mac.


Also please let us know that you have successfully install everything without a problem. :]

In the meantime, I managed to find the original copy of the game I purchased in 2009, so I registered it and dowloaded the digital one from Origin. One less problem to deal with

I'll try installing the EPs in order and then I'll report back to let you know how it went - fingers crossed!

I tried to install World Adventures but when I click on the installer nothing happens, just as before 

I'm really following every step so I really can't understand what's happening here... any ideas?
I've also tried repeating the .dmg conversion passage, but nothing.

Anyways, I feel like there could be a corruption during the download. Since Into the Future was working fine, I think you may need to re-download WA again, and see if that works.

I managed to install all the Eps! Thanks for your help
I'm trying to follow the guide posted on this website, but I'm not sure what to do with the manual patch + the ultimate fix.
At this stage, I don't want to screw up and ruin everything, so could you please help me out once again?

Should I use the manual patch and then the ultimate fix or should I only follow the instructions in the ultimate fix folder?

Was the problem a corruption file form the download? Did re-downloading fixed the problem?
Also is your launcher currently patched version 1.67? If so, all you need to do it do the Ultimate Fix.
Use the crack in the #Crack folder btw disregard the other folders!!!


If it's not up to date please do follow  the patching, and then use the Ultimate Fix.

Yup, turns out it was just a corrupted file after all!
My launches is updated to the latest version because, being the base game from Origin, I updated it before installing any EP.

So, shall I only apply the crack to the Bin folder and then that's it?

Yes just apply the crack, follow the Ultimate Fix guide for the mac . It will tell you the location where to put the crack.

Ok, I did everything and finally launched the game for good, but an error showed up

"Unhandled exception 0x80000003 at address 0x0058dbf6.
Do you wish to debug it ? Yes or No"

And I thought I made it  Any ideas?

Do you have any mods or any cc / sims3pack currently?
If so, please temporarily remove it and test it out again.


If that doesn't apply. I believe you need to manually patch the game again and then apply the Ultimate Fix.
I think your current version of 1.67 is too high.

No mods or sims3packs of any sort.
So, what should I do if my version is too high?
Also, how can I re-apply the ultimate fix if I've already replaced the original files in the folder?
Or should I just use the manual patch and then re-apply the same files again?

You need to manually patch the game.
And then reapply the crack from the Ultimate fix. You don't need to worry about the original files.
I believe you're thinking way too hard. >_<
