Is it necessary to install expansion packs in order?like expansion pack 4 then 2 then 9 then 1

No, it's actually not necessary to install them in order of release. You can do it in any order you wish. Just remember to do the Steps 2-4 from this guide after you finish the installation of all the expansion and stuff packs you want:

Yes, what SeoY said. Smile  


Since the "manual superpatch" was released (can't remember when exactly that was), you don't need to install them in order anymore. With the manual superpatch, you can patch your game striaght to the latest version, and then you can install any expansion you like.

Before that superpatch came out, you had these small updates, which you needed to apply in a certain order...but luckily that's obsolete now.
