Unable to Connect to the Gallery

Unable to Connect to the Gallery
I have downloaded the G4TW version of the Sims 4 and have applied the Ultimate Fix.
Every time I try to enter the Gallery, I do not have a username in the top-right corner.
Instead I get a red RLD.
I do have Origin running in the background, logged in.
I am aware there is some sort of offline switch in a file, but I am not sure how to switch to online mode.
Is it possible that anyone would be able to help me?
Thanks,
Lana xx

Hello Lana and welcome,
I assume you are referring to this guide here, written by SeoY ? If so, are you basically able to download sims and lots from the gallery, and save them into your offline library then ? Because that's the main purpose of the guide.
And no, I don't think it's possible to go "fully" online with a pirated game, so that your Origin ID shows up in the top right corner. But then, maybe someone else has a better idea.
Sorry, but if you want full online capabilities, then I'm afraid you will have to buy the game. The "discovery" that you can actually download stuff from the online gallery with this pirated game is miraculous enough, but again - and in all honesty - I don't think that "more" is possible here.

Re: Unable to Connect to the Gallery
I was able to log online last night with a fake origin account. It even showed my name in the top corner. It took awhile to connect because I think the servers were busy. I just signed into origin and left the window open (not minimized or closed) and on the main menu of the game I hit the gallery and it showed my name in the corner. Then I went to community tab and this is where it asked me if I wanted to connect, it took a long time but finally connected after awhile. Also I went into settings to make sure it had a check mark in Online Access I think it was called.
Honestly though...I thought I was missing out but now I don't feel that way...because it took so long to connect and then after I connected I really didn't even use it. I might connect one day just to browse but really I think I am just going to stick with Modthesims, as for they have houses and Sims there too and your not getting all the garbage that you can't even filter out of the gallery. Plus I guess people are complaining about getting bad CC from the gallery and not even getting the full Sim they are downloading or houses missing CC and stuff showing up grey or black.
Love my computer to much to get some bad content that might do something. At least with Modthesims you are able to see all what is included before you download something and if it doesn't come with a specific item it tells you where to go get it.

Hi Lana, and welcome to the Games4theworld Forum!
Most of the ones who have connected report doing it by just leaving Origin logged in and running in the background. We still don't know if there is a "trigger", but it doesn't seem like it. Are you sure you left Origin open?
And yes, your username should be in the top right corner if you are successfully connected. I think I didn't left that clear in the guide, so I'll add that as soon as possible.

Hello Carlos.
Yes, I was referring to that guide... The problem is I cannot even connect to the gallery to be able to download content.
I do intend to buy the game, it is just that right now as a student studying law I don't have enough money to go out and buy a $100 dollar game right now. Bills, study fees and text books cost me a fortune right now so until I finish my degree and have a full time job I highly doubt I will be able to just go out and purchase the game.
Thank you very much for replying,
Lana.

Hi Summerbear5,
I will check my settings, and yes, it has been taking a very long time for me as well. I definitely have left the Origin window open, like you (not minimized or closed).
I also use Modthesims for most content but I was really just curious about it and want to know what things I can do on the gallery. Really I just wanted a nice house but I guess I can just download that from Modthesims. I hadn't actually about the black/grey thing with CC etc, so that will be interesting.
Thank you very much for replying,
Lana.

You cannot connect to the gallery at all, with that guide ? Now that's interesting, but OK...
Even if you had the money, I wouldn't advise you to buy it honestly. I have a "Limited edition" of the game, legit on Origin, and it was absolutely not worth the money (originally, I got the "normal" edition of Sims 4 as a gift, but later on I upgraded it myself to the "Limited edition").
I posted another - theoretical - workaround here, which you might want to check out:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t18097-offline-gallery-how-do-i-get-my-sims#125945
It basically involves using the Sims 4 CAS demo, to download stuff from the gallery and then transferring the stuff to your pirated Sims 4 game. Good luck !

Hi SeoY,
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Yes, I definitely had Origin running. I'll give it another try and see if there are any changes...
I will keep an eye out for that username in the corner. As another addition to the guide, I think you should make it clear about the RLD part because that did leave me rather confused as to what it meant.
Thanks very much for replying,
Lana.

Yes, it isn't my ability either that is making it a difficulty to log in. For some reason it doesn't want to connect even with Origin running in the background, logged in. I followed everything in the guide but still it did refuse to work.
I will try your guide later after I finish an essay for my soc.justice class tomorrow.
Thanks for the help
Lana.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll expand on that then a little bit.
Basically what it means is that you aren't online in the crack. That RLD! I suppose means RELOADED, the crack that was used in the G4TW release. If that's the username that it's showing, you aren't logged into Origin, or it's closed. I'm not sure what's causing that you aren't able to connect even with Origin running, but we can try to help you when you have time, if you want of course.

Alright thanks again for the response. I'll put off this essay for a bit more...
How to you switch to Online in the crack? If you know how that might be the main problem with me connecting to the gallery.

As long as I've seen, there's no actual "trigger" to get online, apart from running Origin logged in at the background. But let's take a look. Go into the "Other" tab at the Options in-game. Is Online Access checked? If it isn't, are you able to check it?

Re: Unable to Connect to the Gallery
Thanks everyone for the help.
I have found the issue. It was that Origin was only limited to connect to certain games on my laptop. Of all the things to be, it was that. Why Sims 4 wasn't checked the moment I installed it, I have no idea. Now it is working and my username is in the corner.
So thank you everyone it has been extremely helpful and I've learnt a few things. Now I'm going to go write my soc.justice essay and yell at my flatmates for being loud and bringing there douchebag boyfriends home...
See you all,
Lana xx

That's very good to hear! Glad that you were able to solve it.
Would you mind giving us a little more detail about the solution? It would really help us for the future.
Did you add The Sims 4 to Origin, with the 'Add Game...' option? Or how were you able to allow (and disallow) Origin connecting to it?
