cant find save files in save folder

hi guys ive been following and searching all the sims 3 download , update patch crack ,ect ,in this forum for a while so far i hvnt got any problem. i can play the sims 3 normally ,saved my family town. so here s the problem when i want clean bad cache like caspart chace etc i found my saves folder are empty , not save files there . but when i load the game i still can load and play all of my saved my family tht ive been playing. just wonder where my saved files if my saves folder empty ? i just afraid  loose all my family... im using mac not pc ..sorry if i post here ..i hope somebody can help .. thanks~

Yes you're right. Your saves should be in the Saves folder. But if your game recognizes them, there shouldn't be any problem.

yes but there isnt any files in my saves folder .. i couldnt find my saved files in my saves folder.. sorry for my bad english

If you are looking for your saved files, I'd suggest you search for them across your computer.
Something like : *.sims3 or *.sims3.backup
