Sims 3: Island Paradise mermaid glitch? Empty Sims 3: Island Paradise mermaid glitch?

For some reason, my sim won't turn into a mermaid.. She is human.. I have tried giving her multiple kelp
(In hopes that  it's some 50/50 chance thing..) Is it some sort of glitch? Is there a fix to it? Please Oh Please Help!

How long did you wait...? I think the transformation should happen instantly, but then I'll need to test it myself next time. Also, are you using any mods ? The reason for this could be some sort of conflict.

And did you get the kelp as a ifetime reward, or from another mermaid ? (though I'm unsure if it makes a difference).
