Can't even download sims 3 base game!

Hello, I previously tried to download the complete collection of sims 3 for the mac. However, it didn't work out for me....so I tried to individually download them. However, when I finally finished torrenting them and putting them in the disk utility, I got these files:


I even tried uploading the contents into disk utility, but when I tried to click on the Sims 3 Installer app, it wouldn't load at all, and when I tried to go into the folder installer and load their installer.tgz file, this is what I get...
this is when I tried to use game updates. And this one is when I clicked on the play button...

So far, everyone that I asked has told me to follow the instructions for the mac installation, but as you can see, my files don't exactly follow the  standard files listed in the instructions (e.g. missing the sims 3 zip. file). I really don't know what to do now, please help!

Hi there, I was wondering if you download the sims3 from games4world download directory?
Also what program did you use to extract the files??? Did you use "The Unarchiver" to extract it? If not, then that could be the main problem, because this program properly extract all the files.
I don't know why other programs corrupts the extracting process

Yes to both of the questions! I originally used unrarx, but now I use Unarchiver. And I made sure to download Sims 3 from the download site on Games4theworld.

Have you tried mounting the .iso? Also, here is a link to the Mac Helper's guide to installing the base game and expansions. Once you have completed the install make sure to use the Ultimate Fix which can be found here.

Woop I found the problem! I hope.
Use stuffit Expander to extract the files, and then do the normal disk utility. After you successfully install it, download the Manual Patch for mac and used that (by double clicking it). It should work, if not let me know and I could help assist.
