Can't get past the neighborhood screen. [CLOSED]
Hi there
I have searched through the forum but have not seen anyone else post about this issue. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled a few times with no fix. I did also try the ultimate fix and this did not help either.
I was able to install the game, I can play in create a sim no problem. I can load up the neighborhood screen, however when I try to put my family in a house and play, it goes to the loading screen then ends up right back at the loading screen with a blank pop up like this.
Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
Thanks so much

Hello sangagirl and welcome,
Did you install the vcredist-files too ?
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
Download and install the following 2 files, so the...
vcredist_x64.exe
vcredist_x86.exe
After you did that, re-try running the game. Also, do you have the "laptop mode" in your options enabled ? If so, can you try turning it off ?
And are you using any mods for Sims 4 ?

Hi Carlos
Yes I have unclicked Laptop Mode. As well as installed vcredist_x86.exe. I was not able to install vcredist_x64.exe, as it says I needs windows xp x64 and newer. ( I am running vista). I am curious if maybe this is the problem.

OK, forget about the vcredist_x64, since you got a 32-bit Windows system. Do you have all available updates for Windows XP downloaded and installed ? Also the Service Pack 3 ?

Thanks for the reply. I do have all of the updates. They are for Vista though since that is the system I am running. The service pack only goes up to service pack 2.

Sorry, I misread that you already had Windows Vista. Can you post some specs of your computer ? Is it strong enough for running the gasme ? And do you know how to update your graphics drivers ?

Re: Can't get past the neighborhood screen. [CLOSED]
HI Carlos, sorry it took me so long to respond. I had forgotten about sims for awhile. However I did manage to fix the issue. Its seems that I need to have origin running to be able to get in to the house. Strange since I did download the g4tw version.
This now brings me to another issue since I have also applied the latest fix with outdoor retreat. Which will not play with origin running, but with out origin running I cant play at all.
I will post this in another thread though. Thanks for your help.
