Sims 3 base game won't start

I feel like I followed the base game instructions correctly, but this is what happens when I open the launcher and press play:





How do I fix this? I wanted to download the Sims 3 collection, but that torrent would have taken about 2+ days. Maybe I should just stick it through?

You should try installing one Expansion/Stuff Pack, whichever you want. You just need one. After that, apply both the Manual Patch and the Ultimate Fix and check if the game runs fine now. Please, let us know how it goes. Good luck!
