Sims 3 massive lag
Hey.
I'm experiencing massive lag on the Sims 3. I'm playing on a HP laptop, so I know that's probably causing some lag, but it tends to freeze every few minutes for about a minute or so. And It's just so unplayable with all the lag I'm receiving. I have mods and custom content but I've tried playing without the custom content and mods and it still lags a ton. (I don't like Sims 3 without cc and mods)
The loading screen takes probably 30-60 minutes, WHICH IS RIDICULOUS! I have tried looking around but no one could answer me, so I figured I would come to the best place for solutions for problems. HERE. I have some Nraas mods for lag (I forget what they're called) but they only tend to help a tiny bit. Is there any way possible to help this lag? It's horrifyingly frustrating! I was playing Sims 4, but it is so boring to me, I miss playing Sims 3, but with all the lags and freezing, it causes me not to want to play.
If anyone could reply, it will be GREATLY appreciated

Hi there!
Are you sure your specifications are strong enough to run the game? You can check if they are here:

We also have a post with some tips to help reduce lag. You can find it here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t4692-game-lag-possible-fixes
Also, is your OS 64 bits, and do you have at least 4GB of RAM? Only if you do, you can apply this patch to give more RAM access to the game (possibly helping with the lag):

Good luck, and please let us know how it goes!

...and I would add, do you have too much of custom content (store stuff, custom sims3packs or packages) installed? If you do, maybe CC Magic could help you...SeoY wrote:Hi there!

Re: Sims 3 massive lag
Hello!
I too have Sims 3 on my laptop and it is really laggy too. I knew my laptop could run it but I found that having about 1GB of CC really lagged the system. If you have any more than 1GB try to cut it down as best as you can.
Also how many expansions do you have? Try having at least 1 but no more than 3 as the content from these can severely lag and cause extra long loading screens.
If you havent already, lower your graphic settings to the bare minimum so more content can be rendered rather than graphics.
Thanks,
Layloria

Re: Sims 3 massive lag
Hello!
I was thinking of posting a new subject then I found this one, which is quite similar with mine...I also have a HP laptop (450 g1 probook) which theoretically should run sims 3 at least at medium graphics.
The problem is that i first installed the base game with 12 expansion and stuff packs, and when I played it was running smooth and nice (I also installed a few mods, not too much, just a few skins and other texture mods). A few days later I installed some more mods, and it was ok, until I installed a mod with scripts (something like mare pregnancy) but I am not really sure that is the problem - the game began to lag very annoying and crashed very frequently. I tried to remove the mods and to test the game with and without them, the crashing issue seemed to dissapear when there was no CC and mods, but the game remained laggy. I re-installed it twice and the same, it remained laggy even if it didn't have mods. I am so frustrated it doesn't work anymore...I spent almost 1 day to create the sims and the house and another one to try to repair the game...and still nothing. But at least sims 4 works...
