HELP : sims 4 cannot cook

Okay, yesterday i downloaded the Get to Work and the latest Ultimate fix and the installation went all fine. However, when i started playing at the time i click on the fridge and "Cook" option. the sims would bring out the food and start cooking on the stove and stopped midway. When i click on the food "Resume" , the sims would act as if their path is blocked. (the thing they do when they cannot perform certain actions)
Is this happening to anyone else?

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Is that a reproducable glitch ? I had myself something similar, but usually I managed to fix it by exiting the game and re-starting it. And: are you using any mods or CC for Sims 4 ?

Hi,
I have tried the solutions offered on other websites suggesting to delete the caches and re-starting the game. it didnt work. And no, i had no mod or CC installed.

If you use the option "Save as", and then choose a different name for the save, does that make a difference ? Of course, you need to load next time from that "new" save, and play on.
You should also consider the option of a slight savefile corruption, but we may get to that later...
