Unable to Start: The Sims 4 in Windows 10 [SOLVED]
I installed one the Sims 4 expansion packages, "the Sims4 Ultimate fix". As a result, I tried to uninstall everything and get a fresh start. When I tried to start, I got the following message".
Unable to Start:
The contents of your user data directory were created by a newer version of The Sims and can not be launched. Please update your game via Origin to play.

Can someone help me out.

Welcome to the Forum!
Please, try renaming your "The Sims 4" folder inside your "Documents" to something else, then start the game again. If it works, you can manually try to copy the saves from the "old" folder to the new one.
Also, are you using the latest fix with Cool Kitchen or just the base game?
Please, let's know if you got it working. Thanks!

Re: Unable to Start: The Sims 4 in Windows 10 [SOLVED]
Thank you, that worked. I didn't transfer any files though as I had already deleted everything.
Currently, I'm just have the base installed.
Mu issues started when I tried to install the two expansion packs, "Hot and Ultimate". Even though I upgraded to Windows 10, My Sims was still working. I apparently already had a fix installed, and I installed the one with the Cool Kitchen. At that point everything was still working fine. It wasn't until I installed the Ultimate fix, that it stopped and I started getting these error messages. At that point I uninstalled the game and deleted everything. After that I re-installed The Sims 4, but it would not start.
The only reason I installed these exp packs to begin with, was so I could download mods.
Now that it's working, do I still need to install any fixes?

Hi there, @Wooddragon1365, and welcome to the Games4theworld Forum!
Are you sure that your game is updated to the latest version? If you were getting that error, it means that it's detecting the folder in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 as having a newer version of your current game. That shouldn't be, because the Ultimate Fix updates your game to the latest version.
Well, do you still want the latest update, the DLC, and downloading Mods? Because if so, you'll have to apply the Ultimate Fix. But if you don't mind playing with the game as it is right now, and that is working, there's no need. Do let us know if you want to update your game, so we can help you with that.
Good luck!

I do want to DL mods. Currently I've installed the pack with the cool Kitchen and it works. I haven't installed the ultimate fix yet. Rather than installing it myself this time, I welcome your help.
