'Unknown Error Occurred' when trying to open the game

I know i've done something wrong, i just don't know what...

Basically, i have followed the instructions on the forum here, however, i have found various other instructions as well in this site.. Basically i have a macbook and there is no one single guide to follow...

So, I downloaded the torrent from G4TW and after i extracted with Stuffit, i made the dmg files to install. I installed the base game and then i went ahead to install the first expansion and i couldn't. The installation guide for mac says to open the game and update it, so i tried but it said that my game is up to date, however the version was not the latest at all. So i browsed around here and i read that i should apply the manual patch for mac and it'd fix the problem. And it did. So i finished the installation of the expansions, exactly as the installation guide for mac says. After that the instructions get confusing regarding the crack.

In the guide for mac, it says just to copy the two files in the #Crack folder and paste them in this location Applications/The Sims 3/The Sims 3/Contents>Resources>transgaming>c_drive>Program Files>Electronic Arts> The Sims 3>Game>Bin. Just that. So i did it and i tried to open the game and a message saying 'unknown error uccurred' popped up. In the instruction file in the ultimate fix rar, it says to crack every expansion, so i did, step 11 was weird cause i already did the manual patching, so i tried to open the game at that stage and the same message appear, so i decided to do the manual patching again and i did, and then i followed the rest of the steps and i think they end with the same instruction; to copy the two files in the #Crack folder in the location above. But it still shows the same message 'unknown error'.

I tried to look for the answer, but the mac community is limited, or at least I cannot find any help in this matter. I've made sure i downloaded the right files for mac, and i was really careful with where i was copying items from and to where. I tried to follow the guides as much as it was possible, but they just overlap a bit and it gets confusing. Also, i just realized that the first expansion i installed (World Adventures) didn't install properly for some reason, and i'm thinking that it could be it creating the problem, but it'll take time to uninstall everything and reinstall them again, so i was just wondering if anyone here knows what the problem could be or how to fix it (: i will probably just reinstall it all again but yea...

EDIT: After a lot of digging i finally found a dmg file i downloaded years ago (i can't find it anymore in any torrent site). It contains the base game and ALL of the expansions and stuff packs, an uninstaller and the ultimate fix you have here. All you have to do is just drag the app to the applications folder and it's done, nothing else. It's already cracked and has the latest version (: If you don't want all of the expansions you can use the uninstaller to manual uninstall whichever you want; only then you will need to use the fix (: Atm i do not know where to upload it, so whoever wants the file should let me know and i will upload it to their site of preference (: So far, the game works just fine and i'm downloading the store content you have here and it seems to be doing it just fine. EDIT2: I also wanted to say that what i mean by 'years ago' is like, august 2014, and i've been playing the game until recently and i never encountered ANY problems, besides an error 12 save issue, which made sense cause i was playing for hours without saving. Also, the file is about 25GB. And it is a .dmg file, works only for mac (:

I've been having this same problem, the first step to everything says to open the launcher but whenever I click the game it pretends to open for a few seconds and I immediately get this message.
