.PACKAGE Confusion. Empty .PACKAGE Confusion.

Post by Guest Mon 07 Sep 2015, 08:24

I installed the full store and noticed before the game loads the start screen, a pop up lists which package files are loaded. None of the building package files are listed.

In other words, none of this is listed:
.PACKAGE Confusion. Deskto11
.PACKAGE Confusion. <a href=

Is this normal?

Thanks for any help in advance.

While I'm at it, I've got to thank Admin and Carlos, as well as Sim Architect for the amazing upload of the full store and the 'tube videos. I'm grateful of your efforts  Dedicated to Carlos Hail King Tea!

Thanks for the mention!

I am sorry you were facing issues. Usually, whenever you want to install a building or a neighborhood/world, you need the Sims3pack file in your Downloads folder inside your "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3" folder, then you have to open the launcher and install that stuff from within it.

Please, let's know if you got your problem or if you need further assistance. Sorry for my belated reply.

Happy simming!

That's actually half of the truth only. Smile  Yes, there are indeed .package files of lots too. They are not as common as .sims3packs, but they do exist. In rachelstoolbox's last release of Sims 3 store items (the one that contained all store items until May 2014), which I myself am using, there are these .package files included.

The thing is, you need to put these .package files of lots in a different location. If I recall correctly, the location is My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Library. I don't know if those lots are supposed to show up in the pop-up when starting the game. But if you put them into the correct folder location, look in "edit town" mode under community lots. The .package lots that you installed should show up there.

Thanks for the information, @Carlos! I did not know that!!!

I remember having problems with buildings and worlds, so I would install the sims3pack files for them, even though I have rachel's toolbox set as well!

No worries. I eventually figured out that they had to be installed via the launcher. Everything seems to show up correctly in the drop down menu now, and it's been running flawlessly. The YT tutorial and the resources here helped enormously. Thank you!

I'll check out the "My Documents" area and make sure everything is in place there too. Thank you for clarifying that.
