Stuck at loading screen when using CC

Hi. I've done all my research, and I'm hoping someone can help me with this specific issue, or can give me some insight on what to do. No matter what custom content I use, I cannot get the Sims 4 to work past the initial loading screen - it just gets stuck there, and I can't even get to my task manager. I have to sign out of windows in order to start the process all over again. Now, I had to remove the entire Sims 4 folder from my Documents/ElectronicArts folder to start fresh - no matter if I removed the mods or not. To be specific - I removed all of my custom content from the mods folder, leaving it empty, tried to start the game, and got the same issue. The only fix I found was doing what I previously mentioned, removing the entire Sims 4 folder and starting anew. Now, I tried putting in custom content one at a time and starting the game, again, getting the same endless loading screen issue, no matter what kind of cc I am using. Is it just my luck that all of the CC I am trying to input is outdated or updated past the current patch? I have downloaded and installed the Ultimate Fix (update only, I am not interested in EP or SP right now) correctly and it works flawlessly, until I try to put in custom content. So - I know custom content is causing the issue, none of the custom content I have will work, WHAT CAN I DO? Am I stuck with the ugly (sorry) EA skin I'm provided with by default? Should I just purchase the game at it's ridiculous price in order to see if my custom content will work, then? I'm so frustrated, guys....help! Please. Anyone. I beg you. Thanks in advance.

Just some additional information: one of the mods I am trying to use is the nomosaic by moxie, I figure this is a pretty standard mod, and people all over the web seem to have custom content working alright, even with this sites version of the game. What's going on here?! D:

That's a very interesting problem, and I'm afraid I cannot give you a clear reply to that unfortunately. WhatDidUJustCallMe?

First off, let me say that the ONLY reason why we put up this "update-only-fix", because some people - with apparently slow internet connections - asked about it, and so we said "OK, let's just do that".

It is possible that with EA's coding, the update-only-fix is lacking in certain functions, but I have to admit I did not test this fix sufficiently in this regard.

If you want to give it a try, download and install at first "Get to Work", from Games4theworld. After that, download and install "Get together". Finally, install the "hotfix" I described here.

Sorry to hear you had to delete your CC Sad

I really have no idea what could be causing your problem.

Anyway, If you want you can have my mods folder. I doesn't have alot as I had to delete my old one as well. It has Hair,Makeup,Clothes,Accessories and some build/buy objects

Thanks for the replies, guys. I ended up grabbing Get To Work and Get Together, including all the SP and Spa Day as well, which I didn't know it included. Nevertheless, it all seems to be working fine, and my custom content is now working great. Smile

Also - Aaron, I'll shoot you a message anyway, I'd be glad to see some of the stuff you use and see if I like it.

Carius, what I did was download the ultimate fix when I was only using the base game, so it was breaking my game it seems. Research, a little time, and experience also helped solve my problem. Hopefully, before long, everyone will be able to use the game and custom content without any issues. XOXOXO

TO ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS PROBLEM OR SIMILAR: Make sure your game is updated to match your custom content or vice versa, make sure the content was created for the Sims 4, and be sure you have the correct setup in your Resource.cfg folder IF you are using subfolders; using Notepad or TextEdit, you can view and edit this file as follows:

Priority 500
PackedFile *.package
PackedFile */*.package
PackedFile */*/*.package
PackedFile */*/*/*.package
PackedFile */*/*/*/*.package
PackedFile */*/*/*/*/*.package

Once your Resource.cfg file is configured, your base game should be able to read custom content properly. If you want to add SP or EP, only update your game using the newest EP's available at the links in the first reply on this thread, and custom content should work fine. Your Resource.cfg file will be automatically configured by the new EP's as the latest Sims 4 update is included with the files. You can find all of this info on multiple threads, but just in case someone is reading this and lost, I hope this helps!

Disclaimer: this is only regarding this sites versions of the game along with the base game by RELOADED; I have not tested other game versions, although it shouldn't matter.
