Glitch? [SOLVED]

First of all, I am really grateful for Get Together and I am so excited to try it! However, I experienced a few problems with it. I noticed how the gameplay just won't run as it should. Example, my sims can't use the dance floor, the barrista won't serve food and tea, my sims actions doesn't work, their emotions doesn't change and all the other sims around are not doing anything either. They can't interact with stuff. GThe game itself doesn't freeze, but they sims aren't doing anything and can't interact with anything. The only way to get the it going is to open the option bar and u can see the game like gets back to live, the sims emotions change and the action queue starts working again. 

I was wondering is this a glitch that needs fixing or am i the only one who's experiencing this. And if so, does it have anything to do with donwoloaded mods?

I just want to thank you soooooo much for the tips! I've tried hot fix and doing the careful selection of mods and now my game is running perfectly!
