'Suddenly missing' DLC packs in The Sims 4, possible fix. [OBSOLETE]
Hello,
Several users have pointed out that after installing pirated DLC in The Sims 4, and maybe playing a little while with them, these DLC packs may go "missing" upon a future start of the game.
It appears that these errors are very often due to file/folder permission conflicts.
1) For a start, try editing the folder permissions in The Sims 4, according to the guide here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t17678-permissions-error-when-copying-cracked-files-fix
This was written for The Sims 3, but it should be applicable for TS4 too. Start again with the folder C:\Program files (x86)\The Sims 4\Game\Bin. Then continue "upwards", with the folders Game -> The Sims 4 -> Program files (x86). Then see if this yielded any improvement in your game. It is possible though that the procedure needs to be applied to (literally) all subfolders within "The Sims 4", which we cannot confirm at this point though.
2) An easier solution (which was confirmed by a few users on here) could be that you simply move the installation folder for "The Sims 4", into a place with fewer restrictions regarding file/folder permissions. For example, onto the desktop, and then try running the game from there. I myself am running The Sims 4 - on Windows 10 - from my D: drive, that is hooked up internally in my desktop computer. Thus far I have not experienced any issues with that. In theory, you could use any other external hard-drive too for that, i.e. another hard-drive than "C:\".
3) Make sure too that Windows Defender and/or your third-party "security" software are still recognizing your exclusions properly. See again this guide here.
That is all for now - and we will keep looking into further explanations for this issue !
DO NOT POST ANY QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS IN THIS TOPIC. INSTEAD, PLEASE OPEN A NEW TOPIC IN THE APPROPRIATE FORUM-SECTION, EITHER "THE SIMS 4 DOWNLOADS SUPPORT" OR "THE SIMS 4 IN-GAME SUPPORT"! THANK-YOU-NOTES CAN BE POSTED IN THE APPROPRIATE FORUM-SECTION, or directly under this thread.
Note that any and all questions posted under this thread, will be deleted without any explanation or advance warning. We have the Forum sections dedicated to Support purposes, for a reason.

Missing DLC's is also caused by applying the update-only ultimate fix. The fix will set your game back to base game only.
Don't use the fix when you have additional DLC's installed.

Yes, don't apply the "Update-Only" Ultimate fix for TS4, to fix your TS4 ailments, please. The Update-Only Fix is really ONLY meant for people who have a very slow internet connection, and who only want the bae game update, without the actual DLC.
