Origin is currently not running

Hello,
First, I would like to thank you for sharing the games and their updates, I think you’re doing a really great job !
But unfortunately, as you probably guessed, the games aren’t working on my computer.
I will try to be as clear as possible.
My laptop is running under Windows 8, and until yesterday, my anti-virus was Avast, which I replaced with Avira. Someone told me that Avast could be the source of my problems so I tried to get rid of it, with no success.

So, I’ve already downloaded several versions of the game, but none of them worked.
At first, I got the initialization error, but now it is : Origin is currently not running. I’ve also already read your topics about these two errors, and added my Download file, and the Sims 4 file in the exclusions, my Windows Defender is off, as my firewall.

I had Origin and after these errors, I uninstalled it. I think I properly uninstalled it, I deleted the Origin things in my registry, and in my programmData.

Maybe the problem comes from an old Sims or Origin file that I missed, I dont know...
Also, I move The Sims files from Electronics Arts to programme files then to D:.

So, I launched CCleaner and went into the registry and here is what I see :





Sorry I’m French...
It might be translated as :
Invalid installation Reference (i’m not sure about it).
Obsolete software key : Maxis
Missing MUI Reference :


And of course, with the other Sims versions I tried, I cleaned the registry on CCleaner without really paying attention.


Do you have any idea ? I really dont know what to do, and I don’t know what to do with these errors on CCleaner.

And yes, I followed your guide about how to configure Avast but even after that the game didnt work...
When I only install the base game, I get the initialization error, and then when I install all the other addons I get the Origin error. I really dont know what to do, why would this work for some people and not for other ones ? I must have missed something but I don’t know what..
Also yes : I moved the Sims 4 file under C:\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4

I think I will listen to you and try the Sims 3 ! I’ve played the Sims 2 for years and I really loved it, I think it was probably the best one but I wanted to change a little

For all users with the Origin Problem, I have figured out a solution.

Just a bit ago I was like you guys, looking around the web trying to find answers and the answers you might've found didn't work for you. Well I came up with a simple solution. Down below is the step by step process I took.

Step 1:

- In your The Sims 4 Folder, check for another folder called _Redist. Open it, and then open the application named QuickSFV. This shall run through all of the folders and check for which files are "bad". If more than 1 file is bad, use this to guide you to find the other right files for the wrong ones you might have.

Step 2:


- Once you've went through QuickSFV, you most likely will only have 1 bad file; rldorigin.dll. This file is the file that makes origin work with TS4, and allows the whole game to be crack-able. The only real solution is to 1) Find a friend who cracked the game and it works for him, and get the file from him or 2) Look for it on the internet. Number 2 most likely won't work since when I figured this out I spent hours trying to find a good rldorigin.dll file and couldn't find one. I recommend asking anyone here that has the game (cracked) and it works.


Step 3:


- Once you receive the file, copy it into the Bin folder which is under the Game folder. Replace the old file, since it is a bad copy, and retry the QuickSFV that we did in the first step. This will recheck all of the files, including the new one you just put in. If they are all "OK" then you should be good to go and the game should be working perfectly!
