Installing Downloaded Expansions to an Original Base Game. [SOLVED]
Hi Everyone,
ok im really hoping someone can help me,
I am reading the instructions on the installation process to add downloaded expansions and Ultimate fix for the sims 4---- found here https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t21806-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-4-correctly -- and i have one question,
My path for C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\
only goes up to C:\Program Files (x86)\
I DO NOT have an Origin Games folder, only an Origin folder.
Can someone advise as to what to do??
Much appreciated,
Tami

Hello again,
Have you downloaded and installed your Origin base game of The Sims 4, via the Origin-client ? If you installed it, the location should show up. Not sure if I hinted at in my PM, but you might as well just pirated the base game as well. Due to you not having this specific file/folder location, I suspect you have not yet downloaded or installed your legit TS4 base game, on that computer.

Re: Installing Downloaded Expansions to an Original Base Game. [SOLVED]
Hi Carlos,
i do have it installed, but as i said my path goes like this----
C:\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4
then inside The Sims 4 is the following folders;
_Installer
Data
Delta
Fp01
Game
Gp01
Sp01
Sp02
Support
so my path is not as it is on the instructions provided.

Independent of where you installed your base game, can you actually find it ? If so, just copy & paste the pirated updates there instead. The instructions refer to a generic-location; namely the scenario what most people are going to encounter. If you (for some reason) have different installation paths, then you can draw an analogy.
The instructions from G4TW are based on using the base game of G4TW, which installs under C:\Program files (x86)\Electronic Arts. Later on, we included in the install guide that people should move their install folder of The Sims 4 directly under C:\Program files (x86).
You should be doing fine, though I would have a look at this here as well as the topic about anti-virus issues. Otherwise you should be fine.

No, why would you now re-download a pirated base game ? If you seem to have it (installed) already, then just apply the pirated DLC to it, and test the game. Apply the DLC in the following order.
- Get to Work
- Get together
- Hotfix

Sure, if you (somehow ) got your Origin basegame installed already in that location, then go ahead with the cracked DLC. If done right, it should work. And again, make sure to read those other posts that I linked to before, the ones about de-activating automatic game updates & anti-virus issues.
Good luck, and feel free to post back when you're ready !

You could've also done the suggestions posted in that thread. Specifically, the one that says you should delete the GameVersion.txt, located under Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. Should you encounter the same error again, with your - now - pirated base game, just try and delete that file before running the game.
