The Sims 2 Collection Deluxe edition won't install

Hi, I recently downloaded The Sims 2 Collection. I have tried installing the base game ( comprises of the deluxe edition) thrice now, but I seem to be having a problem getting through the installation destination step. The main problem here is the installation keeps asking me whether I want to continue or cancel the installation after I selected the options. Please help. I really want to play the sims 2. I know you guys will be able to help me out, cause this forum rocks!  I look forward to your reply!

try run installer as administrator. Right click on .exe file and press Run as Administrator. Also, try moving folder containing installer. Example: If Seasons expansions gives you error move its subfolder on another location.
Make sure that drive which you're installing The Sims 2 has enough free space.

If you do not uninstall in the proper manner, the register still contains items of the sims-2, preventing it from installing a second time.
You must clear the register manually.



Press the windows key + R
Type regedit in the window
Look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and click the folder open
Look for Software and click it open
(for 64 bits Windows, look for Wow6432Node and click it open)
Look for EA Games and click it open
Select the extensions you want to remove, rightclick on them and select Remove.
Close the register
Re-boot the computer.
