Unable to launch The Sims 4.

Before I installed the ultimate fix my game was working fine (with the two previous expansion packs -gtw n get together)

After I installed the ultimate fix and did the things as directed in the installation guide... This pop up always appear whenever I clicked the TS4 application

Srry im new to this site, I couldnt find the 'edit' button im order to add this to the post of mine :

A pop up saying ' Run the game as administrator if it is the first time you start it. Always make sure origin client is not running ' 

Please help me.. T~T

Hello, and welcome to the forum, 

Have you made sure to MOVE away the install folder The Sims 4, from C:\Program files (x86)\Electronic Arts ? The folder can be moved directly under C:\Program files (x86), or even C:\Program files.

Delete any desktop shortcuts you may still have, and re-create new desktop shortcuts for the game. Then try running TS4 again and see what happens.

The error is a bit mysterious. Another user said she suddenly didn't get that error anymore (with not even doing anything special allegedly). What happens if you right-click on the shortcut or .exe and choose "run as Administrator" ?

This is my (Moderator) view though, so don't be surprised if you don't see some of these buttons in your view. :p  But yes, that is the location of the "Edit"-button.

Also, every time you change the language you MUST start the game as an administrator.
A change of language = a change in the registry of your computer.
Also make sure that the Origin icon doesn't show anywhere on your taskbar. Check the ^-sign on your taskbar and see if Origin is visable in that little window. If so, close it and make sure that in the Origin program you unchecked "Start Origin together with Windows".

Hi. I'm getting the same problem. Been playing SIMS 4 for a while and have been an avid follower of ultimate fixes to get the most updated version of the game. But since I've installed the latest fix which includes the Dine Out pack, I always get the error: Run the game as administrator if it is the first time you start it. Always make sure origin client is not running


I've followed everything on the installation guide...but I get the same problem. Please help! Thanks

Other than alerady suggested, nothing. Try and replay back.

Hi all,
had the same message then right clicked followed by click on run as administrator. Game took a bit of time to load but it works as a charm. I thought it was a simple and effective reminder to cut out origin completely. Now always run game as administrator. Sim Architect also suggested this when installing the game in the first place.

Hi I don't even have an Origin installed so it's a really weird message.lol
How long did you have to wait for the game to launch after you right-clicked and run it as administrator? I actually did that, been waiting for 10mins, but still not launching. Thanks.

My full game of Sims-4 starts running in approx 10 seconds

Um, I waited around about 5 minutes. Try to do that a couple of times. Did you remove saves and tray and mods out of  My documents  Electronic arts the sims 4 before you installed the new fix? Somewhere it was mentioned to do that. I did it before installing new fix, let it run without any mods etc, exited game, put tray etc back in and reran the game. No hitch. as I said I waited some time before it started.

Hi. Thank so much. And yes, I think it's my mods and cc's that causes my game not to launch. So, I tried doing that and it works! and Also, I just run it as administrator each time, and it does work that way. Once again, thank you!

I had this same issue. I'm not sure how relevant this thread is, but my issue was the same was yours and it was a mod I had installed to my game. After removal, it opened and played just fine. Hope I helped!
