Error reading game files - The Sims 3 Pets

I've posed this as a part of another thread in this forum (sorry), but I thought it would be better to make a new thread since it's a problem I haven't found any information.
When the installer for The SIms 3 Pets begins everything's ok, but as soon as it starts reading files to begin the installation I get this error Error reading game files $INSTALLVOLUME/Support/Readme/cs/ctimne.txt
I've tried reinstalling the game, making a fresh .dmg, but nothing works, I've also looked for the folders in my directories but there are none (which I think is precisely the problem, but I don't know how to correct it)
Can anyone help?

hello, i've managed to fix the problem by starting again from the beginning - deleting all that i had done, and re-expanding the file, i did mount the file differently though, using this method https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t775-the-sims-3-mac-the-integrity-of-the-installer-cannot-be-verified-fix

Yes, I managed to fix it using the Fixed version (I had downloaded the normal one), and I had to patch my game manually since I had an error message that said my game wasn't updatable. Thank you for the tips!

I did as you said but now it says this expansion is incompatible with base game version
