Couple of issues. [SOLVED]

None of my games for Sims 4 are from Origin, they are all downloaded from this site exclusively.  The game was running without any issues before.  I followed the instructions from the install, copied & pasted the files/folders from the torrent directly into the old game folders and wrote over the existing ones.  I took all of the mods out completely.  I started the game up from the Game/Bin folder and it started up.  Edit: I also want to add my game says it is version 1.25.136.1020

When it starts up I still see the kitchen beginning, is this normal?  Should I be seeing a City Living start up?

Then when I start the game, it said I have new Kids stuff?  And there's a world with a grey Llama icon that leads to nothing but a white background and I can't do anything there.  Is City Living supposed to come with it's own world?

Edit #2: When I look in the gallery, I can see things (buildings) that are clearly from the City Living pack.  I am extremely confused what is going on.

I don't know what I did or what changed.  I started it up today and it just works.  I have no idea what happened, honestly.  I made no changes to anything, I just started it up to see about the town icon issue being a llama.  It works perfectly now... No idea what happened.  You can close/lock/delete this if you want.  I don't have an explanation for what happened.
