Sims 3 can't save and keeps crashing. [SOLVED]

Hi,
I've installed Sims 3 and all expansion and stuff packs until Generations. I've used your ultimate fix and for the first week, works fine. =) But recently it kept crashing and whenever I try saving, a pop-up saying Random Error 16 or 12 keeps appearing. I've turned off DEP already and my comp can handle the sims at maximum. I got no mods/cc either. Should I reinstall or is there another way around it?

Actually, reinstalling is only going to postpone the inevitable because this will start happening again, we've all dealt with it at some point.
What you can try is the error trap. Its a user created mod that catches, corrects and/or traps errors and prevents these kind of errors.
I'm using it myself and since then I didn't get any crashes or errors during saving (fingers crossed!)

Oh ok, I'll give it a try then. This sounds bad but how do I install mods? I've never done it before, cos I've heard mods can mess up games real bad.

The mods from Nraas don't usually cause problems
. Just make sure you back up your save games, just in case.

Wow it works! Thank you! Maybe I'll give installing some other mods a try. The storyprogression sounds a lot better than EA's.

It is, I couldn't live without it!
You'll have to check for an updated version each time a new patch or expansion comes out, so keep that in mind.
