New patch problem?[SOLVED]

Hey there,
I've been trying to install the Sims 3 pets since last night with no luck.
I reinstalled my base Sims game from the Origin downloader because I lost my disc, and the launcher and game works perfectly by itself. The problem seems to be when I update to the latest patch that's required to play Pets 3 when I'm installing it.

When I try to start my game after installing the new patch, I get an error message that says "There was an error during startup, please see log for more details".
If I try to start the game without the launcher, I get the "service initialization failed" error.

I've tried everything from following instructions perfectly, downloading the patch seperately, uninstalling and reinstalling over and over, and recently tried the Ultimate Fix but nothing is working.

Some help would be much appreciated, thank you!

Thanks for replying. I somehow fixed the problem by re-installing everything again and uninstalling origin. It's working fine (for now anyway) thanks again.
