Sims 3 Update Issue [Mac]
I installed The Sims 3 base from Games4TheWorld and I'm stuck there because it's a pre-retail/pre-final version and I can't update it even enough to install World Adventures. If someone could help me it'd be greatly appreciated. I've read all the instructions from the ultimate fix, no help there. Please help, and quick!

Hello,
I believe I have read somewhere that the G4TW base game is not suited for installation on a mac, but you'd have to look through this section to make sure.

Re: Sims 3 Update Issue [Mac]
Maybe not as quick of a response as you would like but...
1) Like Lady Eldi said, the G4TW base game isn't compatible with Mac for some reason. There is a file that Dale posted on the forum somewhere, I'll edit if I find it, but if that doesn't work, I found the reloaded base game worked for me and some other users.
2) If your base game is actually playable by some chance (as in you can create a sim and play that sim) then I suggest downloading and installing Generations (or Town Life Stuff, both from G4TW) first. As in have your base game working and then install Generations.
If you want to add more EPs/SPs afterwards then don't apply the Generations crack yet. Just install all the other ones without cracks. Then when you're finally done patch to the latest update and then apply the Generations (or TLS) crack.
If you want to install Pets or need help installing Pets, check the sticky post guide for more assistance.
