The Sims 1: Complete Collection Installation Error. [SOLVED]

Hello:

I downloaded this torrent and I extrated the files using WinRAR. I double click start.exe and click the install button, then I get the following error, "Unknown error encountered, aborted setup...". Then a pop-up shows up, "An error occured while launching the setup. The remote procedure call failed.". If I tried to double-click start.exe without extracting then nothing happens. Any suggestions I really want to play.

It seems to be working just fine for me. Please use the following extraction method:


Please open the .rar file you downloaded using only WinRar, which can be downloaded from www.games4theworld.org . (If you use any other software than WinRar, like WinZip or 7-zip, the files will get messed up!)
When
you've opened the file using WinRar, select áll the files in it and
drag & drop them to a folder on your Desktop. When the extraction is
done, close the .rar file and open the folder on your Desktop.
Now,
start by reading the included "# Installation Guide.txt" and you should
be able to get the game to work yourself. Good luck!

Okay, I already deleted the originial .rar, so I will re-download and let you know how it goes! Thanks for the timely reply!

Hello,

Please open the "setup" folder and start the "setup.exe" instead. See if it makes any difference.

I figured it out. I had to use the "Eraser" tool in the "Eraser" folder. Now it works!
