Help Me Build Own CPU

Hello,

For your all information, i'm going to build a CPU for USD 900. ( this is my budject )
now, i hope u all can give me suggestion and advised to build the cpu.
just post a hardware should i buy.
hope u all can give me some idea.

tell me the spec should i build. ( for gaming. just CPU )

Here's what I bought back in Feb. This handles all my games on a 1080p 24 inch monitor at a constant 60 frames per second with v-sync enabled (because realistically, higher frames won't make a difference on my monitor, since it runs at only 60hz).

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 620
Motherboard: ASUS M2N68-AM Plus, AM2+ socket
RAM: 4Gb (2x2GB kit) Wintec AMPX DDR2-800 RAM
Video Card: Sparkle GTS 250 1GB edition (a good midrange card that handles everything I throw at it at highest settings in most games)
Powersupply: 500W Silverstone ST50F-ES, 80+ rated, provides enough power if you want to step into overclocking (proceed with caution if you do)
Case: CoolerMaster Elite 330, lots of room to add more case fans and drives later on if you like
Hard Drive: Western Digital Scorpio Black 500GB, you can get the 1TB for the same price now
DVD Drive: Any generic/unbranded DVD+/-R drive will do, the cheaper the better (for your budget)
Monitor (the only thing I didn't buy last time, since mine is still kicking): Hans-G HH-251HPB, a 24 inch 1080p monitor similar to my Dell 24 inch
Speakers/Headset: anything comfortable and good sounding for the money, I got a Creative Fatal1ty headset when it dropped to $39.99
Keyboard and Mouse: keyboard is up to you, for a mouse, I recommend the Gigabyte GM-M6800 for a grand total of $19.99 ($14.99 with rebate) and feels better than my old logitech MX mouse
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (free on piratebay)

This whole set up cost me a grand total of $460-$480USD, after rebates and free shipping promotions, if I were to buy the monitor at the same time, it would have cost nearly $570-$590 resulting in other discounts on the other stuff. That is one hell of a deal for a machine I use for work and gaming and eats all media thrown at it. The only game I had issues with was GTA IV, couldn't run it with any AA or on highest, mainly on medium/high mix, bringing my frames to roughly 40-50fps. Duke Nukem High Res Pack also killed my frames with everything on high, unless I ran it in OpenGL (support for OpenGL3.2 coming in a new update), then I pulled solid 60.

*edit* let me know if I left out an essential part, It's really late (3:42 AM central time) or early depending on how you look at it.

the only thing I would suggest is a different VC. maybe an ATI Radeon HD 5870. Those are pretty good. If you want to go cheap and good go with Nvidia 9800 GTS

The reason I went with the GTS 250 was that it was dirt cheap ($104.99, $15 rebate dropped it down to $89.99) and is basically a higher clocked 9800GTX, which is better performing than the 9800GTS. It would go like this in terms of price/performance for me: GTS 250>9800GTS>Radeon HD 5870. The Radeon card would cost nearly the same as my entire rig, and result in the CPU being a major bottleneck in the system, even if it is overclocked. Performance in Linux was also a deciding factor in my choice, and in that arena Nvidia > ATI.

Another suggestion, narong30, you could swap out the Athlon quad I mentioned for a Black Edition AMD Phenom x3 720. Then if you wanted to overclock the hell out of it, it would be easier and yield higher performance for the same cost (per core). I got the quad due to the fact it was so cheap for a part that is within 5% of the performance of its bigger brother, the Phenom.

It's better for me. Intel thinks that their shit is gold and expects you to pay in "gold". AMD on the other hand is cheap enough for little guy, yet powerful enough to crank out the baddest games, plus their most expensive processor is somewhere in the ballpark of $310-$350 (their 6 core processors released a short time ago for $310 on the overclocking demon, Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition, which runs stock at 3.2ghz, with the possibility to hit 4.0 if your cooling is good enough). Go Intel if you want to show off your e-penis, go AMD if you want to get a badass system now without having to save much and be gaming much sooner. There are no games that will peg any quad-core, much less a hex-core, so either way you go, it will most likely be overkill and you'll be limited to RAM speeds and size, GPU capabilities, and hard drive speeds (unless you go solid state).

I hate their pricing and their smearing of other competitors during interviews. It started with Via when Intel decided to release the Atom processor to compete in the low power market, in an interview, they attacked their competitor with claims that were either untrue or twisted. Good business practices say that you never put down a direct competitor. Then numerous times they also smeared AMD for being "too cheap to compete at the highest level", also when AMD announced their six-core was coming, Intel claimed "AMD's six-core is not a threat for ours, and probably can't even compete with our current quad-core lineup".

Basically, Intel thinks they shit gold and expects everyone to pay for it as if it were made out of that same "gold". They are the Apple of the chipset world.

I think that day is coming soon. AMD is packaging a load of performance for a heck of a lot less cash, once people start planning their builds smartly, AMD is on the roadmap to undercut Intel right out of the picture.

Intel has such a good propaganda that people will only remind "Intel" when they're looking for a processor. I have to admit, the new TV ads for Intel laptops look very cheap, I didn't like those.

True, and how many AMD ads do you see floating around, outside of magazines and websites? None. AMD doesn't have the deep pockets to compete with Intel on the propaganda slinging wagon, nor do they have the massive amounts of deals with system manufacturers (Dell, Sony, Apple, etc). AMD throws a lot of money at R&D for their ATI lineup and magazine/online advertising for both of their markets, and it works quite well, seeing as how many people have recommended them here and elsewhere for their GPU power, and their CPU value and performance.

Yes, in many benchmarks they do. Real world performance is where it's at though. Gaming and multimedia performance are comparable for both lines. I'd still stick with AMD, since their highest end processors come in at less than the cost of Intel's lowest cost i7's (unless there is some crazy sale going on for a holiday or something). Also, the price to performance is much more sweet on the AMD systems than on Intel, and that isn't only for the processors, the motherboards are also generally cheaper for the AMD chips too. Plus AMD's chips are supported on different socket types with no need to purchase a specific motherboard, as long as it is AM2/AM2+ or AM3. Intel has different ones for different families, and they left behind the LGA775, from their Core 2 days and the 1366 and 1159 are for different performing chips and can only use chips that are built for those sockets. AMD allows you to keep a motherboard from those older days and use newer parts, as long as the bios supports the new AMD chips. I will not use Intel until they start coming off their high horse and start providing decent pricing for their wares.

100% agree with this... in my opinion AMD are more friendly user and heavy duty at all

I would suggest you to get a Quad Core with at least 4 GB.
About the video card get ATI 5xxx or GT2xx.
For the power supply, get a good one like 600w +
A good cooling case with fans. I got an Antec 300, pretty good so far.

Thats should play all the games so far and more.

Sounds very similar to my suggestions.... Except you don't need that big of a power supply. And the Antec 300 is not a very deep case for some of the bigger GPUs when you decide to expand and upgrade later on. The Cooler Master Elite RC-341 on the other hand has tons of room, due to the fact you won't have/need ridiculous amounts of space wasted on a HDD cage that you can't possibly economically nor realistically fill in a cheap build. And the GT series of cards are very underpowered for games such as The Sims 3, the GTS 250 would be the wisest starting point in terms of cost/performance, unless you can get a decent ATI GPU at a great price.

I'm considering to get a new system with 8GB memory and Intel i7 860. Sounds like hardcore gaming.

The system I had in thought is € 1099,- exc. monitor. Then I'm going to need a 24" moniter which will be aroung € 200,-.
So eventually, with a pare of speakers it'll be around the € 1350,- , I think.
