The Sims 3 or Sims 4? Empty The Sims 3 or Sims 4?

Post by Guest Sun 02 Oct 2016, 15:00

Hi guys. AS i played sims 3 with full dlc packs expansive packs e.t.c and also of sims 4 even the latest dine out.

I think some times sims 4 is boring yane its my fourth time i start sims 4 again with full dlc packs . currently im playing and i know i will again stop playing for a few months.

The sims 3 was open world and it was not boring at all. There were no lags for the people who were not using mods.IF you want to cross street in sims 4 you have to travel and a loading screen will come Sad,

in sims 3 you would go any where without loading screen in cars.
so what you guys think shall i go back to sims 3 or stay nd playing sims 4?

We cannot make that decision for you.
It's just what you prefer.
Some prefer Sims 3, others Sims 4
(I myself still prefer The Sims-1 as there are only a few cheats, unless you use the Magic Mirror. I admit, the graphics are bad, but the game is brilliant).
The modern Sims-games are all boring as with cheats you can start the game in the morning, go to work and when you return in the evening the game is still running. Try doing that with Sims-1 and they are all dead !
I see Sims 2,3 and 4 as an electronic dollhouse and not as a game.

Sorry for a late reply
Well I don't know for you but my top answer is to get The Sims 3 with almost all expansions.
Now why's THAT?
Well Sims 4 was released very recently and expansion, stuff and game packs aren't pretty enough. Also The Sims 4 is More DIFFICULT  as well as wastes the hard drive.

My favorite order of preference:

1) The Sims 3
2) The Sims 2
3) The Sims Medieval
4) The Sims Stories (Castaway, Pets & Life)

And somewhere after that comes The Sims 4.  Haters gonna hate  Mostly because of the limited in-game content, both in terms of quality and quantity. Here's to hoping The Sims 5 will be better, but I suspect some type of online/multiplayer life simulation, ...

It depends on what you like to do with the game, i would personally reccomend the Sims 3 because:

I own all of the expansions and other add ons, I actually purchased this game & I love it I still play it and spend many hours creating new houses. I mainly build on it though, I like to create things and it is possible to add a personal touch to The Sims 3, customisation is almost limitless.

Sims 4 is okay but it is limited, loading screens, preset colours, I find myself modding this game more than playing it. I also refuse to pay the heafty price tag they have stamped on it. Sims have smoother animations though and it is less buggy and laggy than TS3.

I am on the fence which I like better, though Sims 3 would edge out if I had to pick because there is more to do. But the way I keep myself interested in both games pc wise is to do the various challenges on the sims forum, and the rather well known Legacy Challenge.

It really depends on how you like to play. If you are the sort that likes a lot more social elements, I would say Sims 4, otherwise Sims 3 has more to offer in terms of larger worlds, more lifestages and more activities and what have you, this is of course speaking of the PC version. I own Sims 3 on the Xbox 360 but have not played it very much so I could not give a fair opinion on it as of yet.

I like walking around in the neighborhood, without annoying loading screens for every lot that you "travel" to. To be fair though, this was done by the developers to make the game run on weaker computers. At least on some weaker computers. I grant the developers that they tried learning a little bit from The Sims 3, which has/had a tendency to eat a lot of computer resources.

Anyhow, you never know, until you know! Maybe Sims 4 will take off like a rocket from now on and blow us out of our socks with amazing new features that will completely re-define the genre of the game!

Well, you actually already filled in the answer yourself. You say you find the sims 4 boring and that you know you will stop playing soon, while you enjoyed the sims 3 and it's open world.
So that means the choice is already made to the sims 3 then.
In my opinion i favor the sims 3 over the sims 4 anytime and even the sims 2 is better. The Sims 4 feels like a dumbed down version of the sims 2 with a few elements of the sims 3. And actually it reminds me also to Singles 2, which is a simulation game developed by Rotobee and published by Deep Silver. To me The Sims 4 is the evil stepchild of the franchise, much like the movie Problem Child. The Sims 4 is just ok to play for a while, but after a while you are gonna miss things, especially the little things. Things such as the fighting sims in sims 2, the open world of the sims 3, university, cars, pets and the like.  I still play both The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 with all expansions and stuffpacks and with dozens of mods (both games). There are even still mods made for The Sims 2 nowadays.

I like the Sims 3 better for right now. I like the art of The Sims 4 better, but there isn't enough game-play wise right now to keep me hooked. WhatDidUJustCallMe? Although The_gh0stm4n could very well be right and we could end up with our socks knocked off somewhere down the line...maybe.
I think I'm the minority here but the load screens don't bother me at all! I think I still get flashbacks from when I had a crappy laptop and the Sims 3 would lag like crazy because it was too open! I didn't have a console either. I am nervous that the load screens will slowly increase in length the more expansion and game packs are released. I think inevitably they will but...I just hope it won't end up taking a day and a half to switch lots.

Art of the sims 4 is like it's made in ren'py, especially when you go to the neighbourhood selection screen. It's like i play a game from Winterwolves, Hanako or Alice in Dissonance. It works for their games, such as Loren or Fault, but not for the sims. In TS3 and TS2 neighbourhoods look more like actual towns or cities and you see the buildings already.
But each to his/her own i guess.
