Sims 3 really glitchy... Empty Sims 3 really glitchy...

I've followed the instructions, have no custom content or mods, but I'm still getting some problems with the game

- Can't use eyedrop tool
- Can't click and drag floor tiles
- Can't go into buy mode (just reverts back to build)
- Can't update game

etcetc

Is there some fix I've missed or something? I've got all expansions + stuff packs from G4TW, system requirements are fine. It's just some really weird things that hinder gameplay a fair bit.

Its possible that some of this was patched, so I recommend a manual patch and don't forget to get the latest fix for 1.29, the link can be found in my signature.
