Base game install can't find files

When I open the installer for the base game an error message comes up saying that 

The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor the verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package. 

Not sure why this is coming up and not sure how to troubleshoot it

Did you extract the download with Winrar ?

Or with 7zip or peazip or any other extractor that can handle rar files. The built-in extractor from Windows itself won't work. You do need a program for that. I recommend 7zip myself, as it can handle many other archives as well, including rar.

Just be careful that, while 7zip works for me and you and a number of other people, some computers are tricky and sometimes WINRAR is the only one that works.
If push comes to shove, try it out ^^

Hi, I just joined a moment ago because I'm having the same problem. It says the setup files are corrupt when I try to extract them (using Winrar). I'm currently redownloading, but I'm unsure if this will fix the issue.


**EDIT: Redownloading the torrent file worked for me!**
