Install of the Base game and then World Adventures

Hello together,

I took time for downloading base game and all the additional EPs.
Base Game was being installed an in function too. But when I came to read the note about installing WA I was reading:

2. Now open the Start menu. Type 'regedit' in the search box and press [ENTER]. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3   and double-click on 'SKU'. Change the shown
number to 2 and press 'OK'. Close the Register Editor.

Well I did that but I had not such an entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software ... there is no Sims ... I was searching for SKU but nothing.
I continued with installation of WA, but I think it was a fault. Nothing went when I wanted to install the updates in the crack3 folder. It always said I have a problem with a country thing.

Sorry for my language, I am from germany and I would like to know what I did wrong. I hope for a good explanation. Thank you in advance

I don't know where you have read it, but SKU should be 1 (at least that's what it is in my register (Dutch))
64 bits Windows: Look at HKEY-LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432node\Sims

thank you for your help. I dont why, but after second install I found the Wow6432node in regedit. Maybe I didnt search good enough.
But for the giant download for the complete installation is was hesitating ... I think I will delete it all again and load that giant download.
My extern harddisk was making trouble to save 5GB in one piece. I wanted to save it all for not downloading it again.
Do you have any suggestion how I can save these giant 27 GB to a harddisk?

Mega gives you the opportunity to download anonymously as I understand that in your country there are fines for illegal downloding.

About the hard disk:
When your disk is FAT32 formatted you cannot store files larger than 3 GB.
You should re-format to NTFS  but by doing so, you'll loose all information previously stored on that disk.

Yes, you can easily change the language.
Keep the Windowskey pressen and type on R
In the window type regedit and click on OK

In the register:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Then open SOFTWARE
in 64 bits Windows go to WOW6432Node
scroll down to the folder SIMS and open it
Open the folder The Sims 3
rightclick on Locale and select Adjust
Now change en_US to de_DE

That should do the trick
If not do the same with Into the Future, but in my mind it should not be necessary.

As you've changed the register, start the game as an Administrator

okay, that sounds good.
So I will install it again, and change launguage as you showed here.
One more question. I have CC downloads from over 10 years when I played first time Sims 3. Can the Downloads folder be created normally here too and CC downlads are accepted?
Could be a senseless question for those who never used such downloads. For me its first time ...

You don't have to install it again, just change the register.
About the CC - No idea, I never used it.

So me again, with the question how I can use CC and game mods, just like nraas.
The game folder of this "all in one version" should be
C:\user\(myname)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3
but it didnt install anything .. there are only some xcpt... files.

So 1. can I use mods and custom content and 2. when yes where can I create my Downloads folder. As I said, the above mentioned folder didnt exist.
Was that maybe, because the other single installs of Sims 3 still were existing?

I would be glad for a good explanation. And if I must deinstall and install again, no matter, but I need help.

The mentioned folder will automatically be created as soon as you start the game for the first time.

Extract with Winrar
You now have a folder Mods
Place that folder in user\Dpcuments\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3
You can now add .package files to the folder Mods\Packages

Its good that this topic isnt yet closed ...
My downloads in the mods folder are running now. What means, that all .packages files are working.
So I have some sims3pack files, when I remember correct, they need to be placed in another folder. But I dont remeber it.
That are mostly hairs, lots and worlds. The problem is, that my sims3pack files dont have the s3launcher icon. What can I do ?

sims3packs just install by double-clicking on them.
No matter where they are on your computer.

I wished I could doubleclick on the sims3pack files.
As I wrote, these files dont have tshe sims3launcher icon. So they arent connected to sims3launcher.exe

Rightclick on those files and select Open with ....
Search for sims3launcher on your computer

It doesnt go ... and I have such an idea why ...
the whole path for my installed game is
c:\program files(x64)\Mr. DJ\The Sims 3 Complete Collection\
I found sims3launcher on different EPacks. I took the latest ... "Into the future"
Maybe my PC doesnt like that "Mr. DJ"
Well I tried it myself before with "open with" but the sims3launcher opens and doesnt nothing more than opening. It doesnt install anything. I am missing the animation of the sims3 icon. I know by past that the launcher always came up during installing the sims3pack files. What is going on? Must I reinstall ? Must I install without "Mr. DJ"folder ? What is wrong? Everything is okay but installing sims3pack files. packages are okay. It should be able, because I know by past that the game is more fluent with installed sims3pack files. Worlds and lots are mostly coming as sims3pack and I cant use them ... not good ... any suggestion ?
