Im not impressed with the vampire pack
All you get is 2 houses and nothing else to do in that world. The sims 4 is not good as sims 3. Not enough content to my liking at all.

Re: Im not impressed with the vampire pack
Well, I have not played vampires yet, but I'm disappointed with toddles. They look ugly as sin, no matter how much you edit the face they all look alike and the interactions with the family, well, it feels lacking IMO.
The silly walking and some animations are okay, but it just feels like another person in the house, like a roommate. Will play a bit with vampires this weekend, let's see how it goes.
Right now I'm just happy to have the updated game so I can use newer working mods and the new items from the packs.

Re: Im not impressed with the vampire pack
I thought the toddlers were adorable at first then realized that the Sims are crap parents. There is so few autonomous interactions the babies practically take care of themselves.
I agree with you about the Vamps. While I am having quite a bit more fun with them as far as interactions go, the lack of other vampires/vamp friendly venues (HELLO??? FANGTASIA??! WHERE ARE YOU???) just makes me sad. And why would you put an anti-vamp home in a vamp hood? lol I bull dozed that. I'm making that whole neighborhood a Vamp Coven/Nest. More in the vein (pun intended) of true blood/blade/underworld and a lot less like "twilight". I have a wish list a mile but I really wish we could create our own worlds.

Re: Im not impressed with the vampire pack
Thanks! I actually grabbed that this morning (along with one that makes just the vamp hood stay dark) but was reluctant to install it. I wouldn't mind some sunshine in a few towns but I would certainly love a much bigger Vamp Community. Would be cool if they would have done something like they did with granite falls only make it a place like New Orleans and added witches, voodoo, werewolves magic... lol Yup, I kinda miss Supernatural, isn't that what it was called? I skipped Sims 3 but Sims 2 had something like that.

your welcome. i used that mod myself on newcrest. too bad plantsims suck, there is a total daylight mod too called daybreak also by twisted mexi.
skipped sims 3? OMFG! lol you skipped the best game in the series lol. I feel so bad for you. but yeah, for sims 3 it was supernatural. who knows, maybe one is yet to come. sims 4 probably has 2 years of life yet. they can only make **** packs for so long before they mistakingly do something right. or atleast we can hope lmao.
unlike the others in this thread, i think vampires and toddlers were the best things ever done for sims 4, and in all honesty i had absolutely no desire for either when i heard about them. but i agree the non parenting parents are a problem, hopefully it does more than let toddlers make bigger messes. lol
well atleast pets are coming and i think they might actually do a good job on em after seeing what they did with tods and vamps. i bet pets will be the next expansion pack.

Re: Im not impressed with the vampire pack
Hahahaha during the Sims 3 phase I wasn't around a computer much. Then when I did try to play it I had so many issues with it that I just gave up. Turns out it was my GPU. By the time I figured that out S4 was already released and I was hooked. I do have it and all the expansions but I just don't have it installed. I did get to play S3 a few times though and really loved the Supernatural part of it. I constantly look for conversions of S3 game content. I actually have S3 and all the packs. My kids play it. For some reason I love S4. I remember when S1 came out. My ex was a Sims City fanatic. I tried to get into it but couldn't then I saw The Sims advertised and I was like "OMG HOW ADORABLE IS THAT?" Yup, hooked. lol
Yes! I think the toddlers and Vamps make it more interesting and added a lot more dynamics to the games. Honestly the only reason I even bother with Maxis stuff packs is because CC creators clone from it and I'm a CC addict.
I haven't tried the plant Sim yet. What is that like? I did find a mod that will lock random unvamp townies out of the new area. Going to install that soon. I would LOVE to see Pets incorporated but as an update, not an expansion. EA seems to think it's users hemorrhage money or something. Should be interesting to see what we get next from them. Sims: 50 Shades Of Gray expansion pack or something..lol

Re: Im not impressed with the vampire pack
I'm working on Fangtasia as well as the characters and other lots. As soon as I fix a couple of minor issues, I will be releasing a True Blood alternative to the plasma packs. There are some very nice vamp mods over on MTS you might want to look at if you are aiming for more authentic vamps. I'll be posting the characters and buildings on my tumblr as soon as I track down their CC links.MommyMayhem wrote:I thought the toddlers were adorable at first then realized that the Sims are crap parents. Very nice! Yea, I've been browsing MTS the last few days updating mods and such. I know someone definitely needs to make a fang banger trait lol If I knew how to make custom traits I would do it in a heart beat!

Plant sims were / are a huge disappoinment, though using some mods can make it just a bit better.
all it did was turn them green, give everyone the same hair that couldnt be changed and make them need sunlight. i think its the laziest thing ever done in the sims history.
plant sims were a temporary release as you probably know, but there are mods that can bring them back and even make them turn plantsim permanently, and some can change the plantsim appearance to make them look kinda better. never tried or even seen a plantsim in earlier sims games, but then again, they never appealed to me. i only gave them a chance in sims 4 and as i said, hugely disappointed. so if you think about getting into them, i highly suggest googling plantsim mods for sims 4. they are very much needed.
as far as users hemmoraging money, i see people begging EA to take their money on twitter, because of the lack of GP's and EP's for the game. some people look like they feel like EA doesnt want them to spend their money lol. which i almost agree with that idea, cause very little of whats released for sims 4 even appeals to me which is a first for me. part of me want's it all cause i have everything for every game, and want to continue to do that, but i really have no desire for anything on a oh i gotta have that kinda vibe.

Re: Im not impressed with the vampire pack
I might have a look at tinkering around with that. Can't hurt to tear apart a trait and see how it works..hehe. Might be nice to have that and possibly a couple of others traits for the vamps themselves.MommyMayhem wrote:Very nice! Yea, I've been browsing MTS the last few days updating mods and such. I was a HUGE fan of True Blood (I found some of their stuff for s4 today too!) and loved the Sanguinistas story plot. That trait would be cool too. "People are food not friends.." lol I have been thinking about trying a few fun things with the vamp dual personality thing. Like a reg person (even though they obviously have vamp traits) and Jason Vorhees, Freddy Krugar, (I have those skins here some where) Jack The Ripper, Jeckyl and Hyde to name a few. This is where that Halloween pack will come in handy. Going to tinker with it a bit in a few minutes.
What do you use to tear apart a trait?

Re: Im not impressed with the vampire pack
If you're serious about that, google Zerbu's Mod Constructor. That's the tool most people use to create custom traits. You could definitely use it to make a fang banger trait and I don't think you need to know how to code to use it. What you could do is create a custom flirty buff that activates around vampires.Rosebud1773 wrote:I might have a look at tinkering around with that. Can't say that i'm that impressed as well. The Forgotten Hollow neighbourhood lives up it's name as it seems many things are forgotten. It's a rather empty addon, while it was presented otherwise. But EA has a habit of presenting things nicer then they really are, like travel agencies do that with travel magazines. Midnight Hollow from the store for TS3 was better and Moonlight Falls from Supernatural as well. You get more then 2 houses by the way. You get 5 in total, where 2 are inhabited, 2 are uninhabited and one is empty. Neighbourhood is rather small as well. And yep, ts4 is the weakest of them all.
There are people who don't find ts3 the best and find ts2 better. I can't say that i find ts3 the best, as it also have some downsides (such as rabbitholes) and it misses things which were there in the sims 2. ts3 doesn't have hobbyclubs, you can't go on vacation with friends or your lover (sim has to be in the household) and it uses reallife countrynames, restaurants are not fully functioning like in ts2 (and now also in ts4) but instead are stupid rabbitholes (which is a real turnoff), your time on the university is short in ts3 and it isn't integrated like ts2 (feels more like a sideproject) plus that it lacks many things (such as cheerleaders, dorms, mascots, secret society and the like), sims are less dynamic in ts3 and won't go into fighting soon (sims in ts2 seems to be rather agressive and with the slightest provocation they end up in fighting, which is just funny to see), you can't begin a business of your own like with OFB in ts2 with ts3 (not counting that store thing, which somehow brings a little ofb to ts3), buying clothes (in ts2 you buy them, in ts3 you already have an outfit) However, ts3 does have it's good things as well, such as a dynamic neighbourhood, story progression (some find this not good, but i actually like it that sims now have their own lives), more activities with vacation and you can learn local recipes, able to be a VIP and get rewarded for that, parties and being invited to that, hosting a big party yourself (in ts2 you could only invite 2 by default), make your own patterns (and thus no need for endless recolors to install, making every sim unique), extended CAS, been able to see your sim go to work, government buildings like a city hall and which you can visit, able to play music outside, building charisma up through conversations as well (instead of hanging the whole day at the mirror to improve it). Well, i can go on, but as i see it the sims 3 ain't the best in the serie, but is also not worse either. For me it's a tie between ts2 and ts3. I like the dynamic world and story progression of ts3, but i also like the agressive sims and other little things in ts2.Misfit203 wrote:MommyMayhem wrote:Thanks! Yup, I snagged the tool, just haven't had time to unpack it and tinker yet. Fangtasia is coming along fairly well with the exception of the CC I'm going to have to make for it...lol. Anyway, it could be a little while before I'm able to upload that, but be patient, it'll come.

Zerbu was living in a bad situation and felt it was necessary to take his site down to motivate him to do something about it. i believe he took it down for a month or 2 but has recently worked things out and is working on getting his site back in order.MommyMayhem wrote:Do you have a link for that?
