The Sims 4 origin not running?

My friend installed TS4 and all its content (not the ZLOrigin/Zclient version) and now he gets the "Origin is not running" error. Hes got terrible internet and is hoping he doesn't have to redownload TS4.

i am facing same type problem.after installing city life my game showning error.origin is not installed.please reinstall origin.i did not ever connect the game with internet.i set up new windows 7 in my laptop.but game is not running

Move "The Sims 4" folder out of "Electronic Arts" folder (located in programfilesx86) and into program files. After that, create a new shortcut to the game (if your friend is using a desktop shortcut to play, if not then you dont need to do this) and run the game. It worked for me, so it should work for you too.

That didn't work for him. Still the same error.

Try playing TS4_64x. It works for me

Try playing TS4_64x. It works for me

He only has 32 bit windows 7. Maybe moving it to Program Files (x86) works?

Yes, it work.

Idk if this has anything to do with it. but he was dumb and tested the game after installing each expansion. he said it worked until he installed city living.

thank you guys so much for making it real (finally)! ive downloaded it before from nosteam and i found an issue, when i was starting to play it, the message pop-ed up said "origin is not running blabla.." and im starting to figure it out that a lot of problems during playing it from anyone else, from loading screen that stuck and many things. so nosteam deleted the link for the new patch they said they will fix everything before they post it again. so, im trying to find another solution for this case, so i will try to download the patch from here and im so glad that with my slow connection at 500 kb/s my ETA is only 7 hours    and idk i hope it stays like that until i finish the download. but it has already fixed? i mean w/o any problem that maybe could happen or anything like i said before? if it was, then i would be so grateful to anyone who makes this happen! thanks a lot! 

EDIT : and my ETA now is only 2h 30m so worth it 

He tried installing toddlers and installed everything and kept the install in program files (x86) and hes still getting the error.

Exact same thing has been happening to me. Tried completely uninstalling both the sims 4 and origins off my PC. Nothing.Re-installed the sims 4. Nothing. I don't know what's wrong. I've successfully installed it before but when the Zclient workaround came out I deleted my old version in favor of the new one. Now nothing I do can get it to work.

Will there be a notice here once they get that Fix updated? I am having the same issue, but I haven't played in a long time, so its not much of a big deal to me. Just want to find all the expansions and packs.

My friend fixed his issue. Turns out some anti virus was still on when he wasn't aware.

Was your friend able to get all of the expansions and stuff packs? I am still getting the Origin is not running error... and there's currently no available Ultimate Fix that I have found. I will try again - making sure my kaspersky is off, but I am not holding out much hope. Kaspersky keeps wanting to delete the DLL files.

Yay! I had to totally shut down my antivirus to get it to work, but it does now. Thanks!
