The Sims 2 University.

Hi 
I have downloaded the torrent that is provided for The Sims 2 Complete Collection and have followed the installation guide however when it come to the University package it installs then it tries to update. The message that I am greeted with when it tries to install states "The update process did not complete successfully. Installation will now terminate". I have had the same game from the same torrent before and have never uncounted this problem before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is the first time i have EVER used a forum before, so please excuse any mistakes that i have made.

Do a manual update:

1. Download The update
2. Extract the download with Winrar by rightclicking on the download and to select extract to ts2_update
3. Copy all files and folders from the newly formed folder ts2_update to your install folder (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\The Sims 2)
4. Re-install University and/or any other expansion.

Hello and welcome to the Forum @LDavis,

You don't need any "updates" when installing TS2 University. There is an update patch on G4TW available, but this is an optional patch that is only relevant after you actually managed to install TS2. What you do now is familiarize yourself with this here:

After you uninstalled your The Sims 2, re-boot the computer.

Then you look again at the download of TS2: did you REALLY make sure to extract the contents of the .rar, with the program WinRAR, and into an empty folder preferably located on your desktop? Please re-do that, in case you mis-did that. Note that the extraction can take a while. In case you don't have WinRAR, click on my signature link where it says "G4TW downloads", and fetch WinRAR from there.

Now, as soon as everything from the .rar has been extracted into the folder on the desktop, you go inside said folder and re-start the installation from there (close WinRAR after the extraction process). Follow the procedure according to the included #Installation Guide.txt.
