Additional Findings Regarding Origin Error
Hello!
I write this now because I and others have encountered the error regarding Origin. For the longest time, I could not figure out how to fix this problem...I mean I completely reinstalled Windows and followed the installation instructions several times.
Finally, I found this repack (fitgirl) of the Sims 4, which it is my understanding that it is based off RELOADED version. Anyway, I installed it and when the moment of truth came, I tried to open the program. BLAMO! Nothing happened. Program wouldn't even launch. No error codes. Nothing. I went back and reviewed the instructions and realized I missed a critical step (I needed to install Origin, but make sure it wasn't running).
This brings us to the whole reason I am posting. I went to download Origin and saw a screen that stated that Origin no longer supports Windows Vista, but that I could download an older version of Origin. I downloaded it, made sure it wasn't running in the task manager and the voila, the program finally works. I suspect that it might have something to do with people who, despite their best efforts, still get the Origin error.
Even the timeline seems to make sense. I could download the G4TW version of the Sims 4 and Get To Work and they would work fine. If I installed anything after Get To Work, I would get the Origin error. If you look at when GTW was released, it was early 2015. Get Together was released at the end of 2015. Between those two times, EA quit support of Origin for Vista.
I apologize if this seems long-winded, but it seems this might be a clue about why the game still errors out for people. Perhaps they are Vista and older users.
