SimCity 4 Deluxe Everything went great until I had to find the Game Directory > Apps

Hey there,

I'm new, and feeling pretty lame. I have everything working great with the download, got to the bridge, closed it, copied the crack exe. but now can't find the Game Directory > Apps file anywhere.

My second attempt, and thought I had it, lol. Any help would be appreciated.

More info: I've deleted the files 3 times now, re-downloaded it, and can get all the way to the bridge, but still, no matter how much digging, I can't find the game app. I've downloaded many many games, and never had this problem. Is it possible that somewhere down the line this file has been deleted by a torrent user? I know some files can be manipulated then reseeded. I guess I'm just at a loss here.

Hello,

The game directory is the folder where the game is installed to.
In your case this is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe(\apps)

Thanks so much for the info. Great to know it couldn't have been manipulated. I did get it off of PB, directly from your link.

Unfortunately, even though it did go through all the motions of installing, that file just doesn't exist, or it is hidden very well, which doesn't make sense to me. I'll have to go back and try again; I'm a determined one!

That's odd. Did you find the Maxis folder at all?
It might be in "Program Files", without the '(x86)'. Also, did you change the installation folder during the installation?

Yes, when I did a search for Maxis, it came up under user Sim City 4 deluxe rar "crack," located in Win Rar. It shows as Sim City 4.exe Date Modified 9/23/2003 9:45 AM 7,348kbs. The folder also contains a empty plugin folder, and a User Pc Config log text. Aside from the instruction text, and the 2 iso's, and a simcity.com that takes me to a facebook page with a trailer of the game, this is all I have.

What I did, was extract the files, then drag them to a new folder on my desktop (no modifications). When I look in Win Rar now, I have the crack, two ISO's and the guide. The same is in the folder. How the facebook url got on my computer is a mystery.

Naturally I figured that the file named crack was the one to copy and paste into the Game Directory > Apps. Is there something simple that I'm just not seeing? Wouldn't be the first time my blond roots became over exposed, lol.

Hmmm... From what you're saying I think you didn't even install the game yet.
Please read the included "# Installation Guide.txt" on how to install the game. This .txt file can be found in the folder you extracted the files to.
If you don't know how to Mount, please read our free Mounting Guide on www.games4theworld.org under "Downloads" > "Guides".
