[Origin Not Running] after Applying Get To Work
Hi guys,
It's my first time posting here I'm thankful because I can enjoy all of The Sims 3 because of you.
And now on to The Sims 4. I'm rather a newbie in The Sims 4 because I just decided to play it recently, so I head here and grab the things that I want.
Problem is I have a limited C space, so I'm thinking that I don't have to install every DLC/Expansion Pack and decided to stop maybe at City Living or Get Together.
When I installed the base game it's all fine, then Get To Work, it's all fine (without Ultimate Fix or Moving the folder from Electronic Arts to Program Files). But then when I get to Get Together, the Origin Not Running issue popped up. So I thought, let's move the folder to Program Files and it persisted. I move it back again after reading the installation guide and apply City Living, back inside Electronic Arts folder. The Origin not running problem pops again.
Would anyone help me what to do with this? I just want to stop at certain DLC/Expansion and just run the game with it instead of going all the way to Fitness Pack.
Thank you very much

Re: [Origin Not Running] after Applying Get To Work
When you have limited space on C, but enough on D or an external drive, you must install the base game in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. That is the default location and you cannot change that.
As soon as the installation has finished you can move the folder The Sims 4 to any location on your computer.
When your install folder is still in a folder called Electronic Arts or Origin Games, you will get the "Origin not running" error.
Make sure the new location is under the exclusions of your anti-virus program.
If "Origin not running" persists, most probably your anti-virus has already put the file RldOrigin.dll in quarantaine.

Re: [Origin Not Running] after Applying Get To Work
Okay, so I did what you told me to and I managed again up until Get To Work.
I installed the base game, moved it into D and then copied moved the whole Get To Work. Tested the game, it's running smoothly.
Then I extract my Get Together, in an anti virus deactivated state and then copied move the whole Get Together contents.
Run the game again to test, only to get Origin Not Running message again
I'm gonna try uninstalling everything, install the base and apply ultimate fix. Install Get to Work and test, Install Go Together and test, etc now.

It should be copy/paste

Yeah, I moved it all, cut pasted it instead of copy pasted.
Sorry for the wrong term

Don't cut/paste either.mylifeholic wrote:Yeah, I moved it all cut paste it instead of copy paste.

The only time you must use cut/paste is when you transfer the base game from the folder Electronic Arts to another location.
