Buydebug Issues. [CLOSED]
Hello there, first off I'm playing on an Origin installed base game with all the expansions downloaded from here. I also have all the 2009 store content and Lucky Palms. I also applied the store fix even though I'm not quite sure I even needed it for those things. Everything in game seems to work just fine except I just discovered this problem when I began working on trying to build a venue for my town. If I place any item from buydebug on the lot then go to edit town I get a never ending loading circle which requires a forced end task. Then If I were to just go into live mode after place objects from buy debug everything seems fine until I go to save where I encounter the never ending spinning circle yet again. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi!
Try the "save as", ALWAYS, instead of "save" as I show in the video below, and let us know if it solve your problem (I had the same issue with one install and it only went away after I formatted my drive and reinstalled Windows, but this is a "quick fix").
Also, when or if you install your game again, you should download the Complete Collection from Games4theworld Downloads as you probably have the same Showtime installer as an old installer I had (with a few files containing a CRC errors, specially if you got an error message while installing from an ISO and you clicked ignore to go ahead with the installation) and the new package is just squeaky clean!
If it doesn't solve your problem (the "save as"), try renaming your "The Sims 3" folder inside your Documents temporarily to something else, then run the game and repeat the steps that cause the problem. If you don't crash, it's likely you have a bad file in your folder (mod, store content, save etc) and you will need to do further diagnosis...
Please, let's know how you did, so we can help you forward or, if this solves your problem, close the topic.
Happy simming!!

Re: Buydebug Issues. [CLOSED]
Unfortunately using save or save as will have the same result but here is what I have figured out. I forgot I was also using Monte Vista so that does apparently require the store fix. I started with a totally clean Sims 3 user folder in my documents with no mods or anything then put Lucky Palms in and everything works fine. Then I added some of the store content back and everything is still fine. Install Monte Vista which apparently needs the fix and we are back to the eternal save or load after buydebug items are used. So I make a fresh user folder again and only put the store fixes in the appropriate folder and sure enough the problem is back. It appears that if I have the store fixes downloaded from your website that I have the buydebug freezes. If I do an install without them there are no problems. Its a shame because it does look like a lot of the cool store stuff requires them

Hello and welcome to the forum,
That was a big issue back then, see this old topic if you like:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t17462-possible-issues-with-store-fixes-closed
At the end, we concluded that there was a glitch within the old fixes, and the new ones (those that are available for download now) had the issue fixed - at least for most people.
That said, the store fixes work fine for me, and for most others too. Are you sure you aren't "mixing" our store fixes, with store fixes from other sources...? I'm honestly unsure why a few people are still getting this issue, but if nothing works, then you'll need to refrain from using buydebug items, at least for the time being. Sorry.

Re: Buydebug Issues. [CLOSED]
Hmm well thats kinda a bummer but getting so much stuff for free that does work great I kinda cant complain lol. Im not using any other fixes though only the one from your downloads and thats also where the worlds and store content is from. Im not home now but I was going to see about placing buydebug items in the clean save then importing them to my documents with all my content and further editing them there as a workaround.

Also, can you try and see if you get this endless saving loop with ALL buydebug items ... ? I myself tested quite a number of those back then, but of course not all of these.

Re: Buydebug Issues. [CLOSED]
Yeah I can try some more items later, if you think it matters, the ones I was using to make the error happen were the overhead lighting squares which I tried several different ones seperately and also the stage with the placement mats for the audience. I came across this while trying to build a venue.

Well, that's the only realistic option left. I'll keep you posted (but I'm unsure when exactly I'm playing Sims 3 the next time, though...).

Re: Buydebug Issues. [CLOSED]
Well I messed around with it a bit more with the fresh user folder. No matter which method of installing the store fix I use if I place seemly any buydebug items (I tried quite a few different ones) I will get an unending loading / saving loops.
I guess I just can't use buydebug at all if I want to have working store content Thanks for the advice though, really wish there was some way around this maybe someday lol.

Sorry, I just tested it (again) myself, and everything is still working fine for me. I'm not sure what else you could do...but is your Windows a 32-bit or 64-bit system ?
If it was a 64-bit system, you could attempt to apply the "4GB patch" to the TS3W.exe. See part of my post here, on how to do that:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t17208-sims-3-has-stopped-working#118442
But I'm afraid that's really all I can suggest now.

Re: Buydebug Issues. [CLOSED]
No worries man, its not really a huge deal. The only thing left that I'd really like to try is see how it behaves if I used the games4theworld base game instead of my origin one but I really just don't feel like reinstalling everything again at the moment. I'll probably give that a shot someday down the road though at least.

Sure, and I'm sorry it didn't work for you. The only thing I can do is to leave the topic open for now, and maybe post back, sometime, if I find out anything new. Until then, yes, I'm afraid you shouldn't use buydebug items then.

Re: Buydebug Issues. [CLOSED]
I might add that even reinstalling (just) the game, you may face the same problem. You might need to download the Full Collection (it is the best torrent I know for Sims EVER, no corrupted files, like many Showtimes I tried before) and install it on a newly formatted computer (you can format your hard drive and reinstall something someday).
That is what fixed this issue for me while trying to make venues a long time ago, even though I got this problem, but it was not everytime, I would get this issue 30% of times, so I would save often and always "as" and from Edit Town mode...
I wish you all the luck and keep us posted in case you need any assistance from us!

Re: Buydebug Issues. [CLOSED]
I am also having this same problem. I have legit copies of all games that I own. I have some content that I did purchase from the TS3 store, and also some things I downloaded from here.
Whenever I go into Edit Town mode and use BuyDebug to place any items (I keep trying to place the "Hidden Room Marker" to make an apartment type lot), and go back to Edit Town, it says "Loading..." and never does anything else. The only way to stop is to CTRL+ALT+DEL back to Windows and close.
I tried making a clean The Sims 3 folder, and I am able to do it then.
I really think it has something to do with the "Store fixes" and the "decrap fixes" file - but I can't figure out why. When I take those out, I am able to do it properly (however some items probably do not work as they should).
Any suggestions? I just discovered this site a few months ago, so I don't have outdated copies of the "store fixes" file.
Does this have anything to do with the content patches from the TS3 store? Should I maybe delete those?

Maybe try moving them out to another folder, one by one, until you find the faulty one?

Re: Buydebug Issues. [CLOSED]
Oddly enough I removed all the store fixes files and now BuyDebug works ... I tested out one of the store items I downloaded from here (premium item, Bakers Oven) and it seemed to work properly. Maybe I will add a few more and see what happens.

Well, as I mentioned already above, I got the store fixes myself installed, and don't have any problems with using buydebug items at all. Most other people don't have any problems either. That said, I can't really tell why a few people still get that issue.
Until we figure that out, please either take the situation as it is (and leave out the store fixes) or put the store fixes back in, and then just don't use buydebug items for now.

Could it possibly be because I have the content patch from EA for the TS3 Store items I have? Does your store fixes also fix those items?

I do have those 'store content patches', yes. And I also have ALL store items (from June 2009 until the last one from August 2014).
If you want to experiment with that, make a fresh "The Sims 3"-folder (the one in My Documents/Electronic Arts), and put the store fixes into the new folder. Put in some store items too, and start the game - see if it makes any difference then (of course, without downloading the store content patches).
I'm, not sure if it can help, but feel free to try it. Good luck !

Once you find the faulty file, you can just play without it, unless necessary, that's why the idea of testing the fixes individually until you find the glitchy one (which you can even try downloading again, just in case, because sometimes files get corrupted).
Good luck, and happy simming!

Just thought I'd report that I installed of the stuff I have downloaded, and all of the Premium Content still works just fine without the "store fixes" - so, I'm not sure what they are for, but apparently the content patches I already have from the Launcher take care of it!

Sorry for the belated reply,
But I guess you have a legit Sims 3 game, that is not cracked... ?

Yes, all of my games are legit ... this is the first cracked stuff I've added!
The items appear in my game and function properly, but I'm having a problem with sets that came with a venue/lot - the lot does not show up in the Library in Edit Town mode.

Yes, it's some kind of weird technicality, that you need store fixes for cracked games only... still I'd like to ask you to open a new thread for your (own) issues, instead of continuing here. I'll leave this topic open, if there are new things the OP (original poster) might be interested in.

Re: Buydebug Issues. [CLOSED]
Sorry to bring up an old thread (but it was started by me) but I am STILL having this problem.
It is definitely related to the StoreFixes_Decrap file, because when I remove that, it functions as properly: That is, I am able to use Edit Town mode without getting stuck in an endless "Loading..." loop upon exiting.
When this file is missing, I don't have certain premium content items, like the ticket accessory for the ticket machine, certain parts of the bakery stove, etc. And those items don't work properly.
Any suggestions on what to do??
