"Unable to start" problems, after everything I tried [SOLVED]
I've been trying since yesterday to find a solution to my problem but something bad comes up everytime so here it goes....
Until the moment I decided to install Vampire andToddlers the game was running perfectly and had no problem at all.BUT I downloaded Vampires and Toddlers, then the neverendingloading screen problem came up so I tried the solution with the Game_ and Game folder. Then all the objects disappered. So I uninstalled the game and tried from the very beginning.
Unistalled again, deleted everything, installed basegame till Get Together, when the same problem came up again. Uninstalled, deleted everything, downloaded and applied the fix....Tried once again. Now the problem came up when I installed Get to work. I tried everything(renaming the Game folder to Game_ and then adding the new Game file, deleting the default.inn and the GameVersion.txt), but still the same problem and one more!!
Can you please please help me??I really don't know what else to do? Should I just download every expansion and pack again??have I missed something??(english isn't my mother language).

Installed the basegame, get to work, get together and city living, but didn't try to run the game until after I'd installed the latter. Only then I came up with this problem:

Hi,
Have you tried moving out the Sims 4 installation folder to Program Files instead and run the game as admin? Also, you can backup your Sims 4 folder in Documents to an external disk (usb or anything preferably) and delete the current folder afterwards.
Make sure that your anti-virus/windows defender are either 1) Turn off 2) Properly excluded the files/folders in the list. If you have origin installed, make sure it's not running. Check the task manager as well to see if origin is 'lingering' in the background.
You can try to copy+paste the .dll files here after you have updated to the latest version (1.31).

I had tried that unsuccesfully.Ageha wrote:Have you tried moving out the Sims 4 installation folder to Program Files instead and run the game as admin?
So... last night (after posting) I tried to install the game once more, without applying the fix or renaming the Game file. The only thing I did was to move the Sims 4 file to Program Files(x68) the moment I installed Get together. Got succesfully to City Living and played.
Now I'm terrified of installing Toddlers and Vampires. Should I continue with Todds.&Vamps. and just do the renaming thing??Should I apply the fix anyway??
Thanks for your reply!

If you have an external disk (usb or hard disk), you can copy your current files (the Sims 4 installation folders) over to there, in case installing the Toddlers and Vampires messes things up. OR if you have none, copy them over to the D drive instead, rename the folder to TheSims4 or anything and apply the update to your Program Files(x86).
Since City Living is working, now you need to copy + paste the Vampire(Toddler), delete the Game folder, and then install Parenthood + Fitness. I highly suggest you update till Fitness though since alot of simmers have problems when stopping at the Vampire update.

And please DO NOT APPLY THE ULTIMATE FIX! You will only have the base game left if you do that and must start from scratch. It is ment for people who only want to play the base game without any DLC's

I dit it!!!
Hi guys!! Sooo I did it!! Thanks so much for the help!!!
I know now two things that had gone wrong:
1) The second time I tried to make it work, I got confused and moved The Sims file to Program Files instead of Program Files(x86). I don't know why this is so wrong, but it didn't work, so I'm pointing it out for anyone who makes the same mistake.
2) Every time (except the last one), I've been renaming the Game folder to Game_ ,then I copied+pastied a Game folder that downloaded specificaly for this purpose(I found the link either somewhere on this forum or on games4theworlddownloads - I'm sorry I don't remember where I found it.) and then I would proceed to Parenthood. BUT it didn't work. This time I deleted the Game folder after I installed Toddlers&Vamps and just kept on with installing Parenthood.
No lost objects, no everending loading screen, all is well!! Thanks so much! Consider the topic closed

Hi @erza_chan24 ,
I'm glad to hear that! Though point no. 1 seems to work for other simmers, so I'm not sure why yours 'rejected' it. But it's good that you've managed to got it working nonetheless. On another note, it's actually better to use whatever files that the .rar provided. I think the link you mentioned might have been the old one where The_gh0stm4n first provided us with the fix for endless loading perhaps?
Feel free to open a new topic should you have any other problems/bugs later on.
Cheers!
