Hello everyone,
I am playing with the family Vatore more precisely with Caleb Vatore and I do really want make him a makeover. However, I am not good with creating a good looking sims. So, I was wondering if there is a way to REPLACE him (in CAS) to a sims that I already have in my library.
I tried but I am only allowed  to merge sims from my library with them but can't replace them!

Try this: open CAS first, and THEN open your Library (with F4). Choose a sim from there and click on "place household" in the lower right corner. Are you getting the following then?

How to replace a pre-made Sim from The Sims 4 with a sims from the library? Screen11

Choose "replace".

Ty for taking time to reply me. However, it is not exactly what I am looking for!
this option only shows when you are editing your household before you start playing! but if you choose a pre-made family you still can't replace them ( or you might know  a way to do that).
So I mean if there is a way after starting playing with a pre-made family (in my case the vatore family) that after I press Control + Shift + C --> testingcheats --> Modify in cas that I can replace them with sims from my library and they will still have the same traits and career etc.

It works in sims 3 however not sure about sims 4!

I know for The Sims 3 you can use the NRAAS Master Controller mod to copy traits and things like that, to another sim. But I don't think I noticed a direct way from within the game to simply replace a sim and still keep their skills, interests, traits, etc.

I wouldn't know how to do that in TS4 either, but maybe there are mods for that. My bet would be this here:
https://deaderpoolmc.tumblr.com/tagged/mcccrelease

Try the 3.6.0. version of the mod, although I can't confirm it being working for version 1.31 of TS4 (the currently-circulating cracked games). If you can make it work, feel free to play around and have a look at what options this mod provides. Maybe it has what you are looking for?

Why not try your creativity and just edit the sim manually in CAS?  clown

As said, I noticed there used to be (or still is) functionality in NRAAS mods, for The Sims 3, to copy traits and whatnot. But I don't know if there are any mods for The Sims 4 which could help with that.

I suppose from a gameplay perspective, it is not meant that you simply "transfer" your skills, traits, whims, etc. onto another sim. You'll have to spend more time right from the beginning, in CAS, to create the sim you want to commit to, and in the long run. Maybe it's also an idea to create a multiple-sims-household right from the start, and "working" on multiple sims as you play along. Although, it is probably a bit more tricky to play with multiple sims. Never tried it in TS4 thus far, but in TS3 it was a bit tricky.

Haters gonna hate

Side-question, but any idea anybody why this topic has over 10,000 views? How to replace a pre-made Sim from The Sims 4 with a sims from the library? Icon_biggrin

I suppose it has been linked to some other website. I'm surprised a bit that a question like this and any possible solutions are in such demand, then again...it seems a lot of players - after playing a long time - start disliking the looks of their sim. Then want to switch to another sim, while retaining the (hard-earned) skills and such.

I just got used to sims 3 and all options that we had that made it "easier" to play with. However, it seems like in sims 4 everything needs cheat or extra mod to make it "easy" to play. Also as you said I just start disliking my sims after a while so I feel they need a makeover and as iQMM said i am lazy too :$

Yes, cheats. I suppose part of the problem can be 'circumvented' by creating (or importing) whatever cute sim you like, and then cheating yourself those skills. As for relationships, I found those codes:

modifyrelationship PlayedSimFirstName PlayedSimLastName TargetFirstName TargetLastName (-100 to 100) Friendship/Romance_Main

=> general relationship modifier. At the end of the cheat, use EITHER "Friendship_Main" or "Romance_Main".

modifyrelationship PlayedSimFirstName PlayedSimLastName TargetFirstName TargetLastName 100 Friendship_Main

=> makes two sims friends.

modifyrelationship PlayedSimFirstName PlayedSimLastName TargetFirstName TargetLastName 100 Romance_Main

=> makes two sims soulmates.

Let's also not forget that video games to some degree always take into account trends in (parts of) the society they portray. Combine that with the unwillingness/inability of more & more people to commit to decisions once made in the past. Regardless of what "decision": real-life, online, etc. Not saying that is necessarily something bad, and after all in this case it's just a video game. Maybe in The Sims 5 it will be easier to switch sims and keep traits, relationships, etc.
