Spent all night setting it up and then set up the framework mod folder as the instructions said, but the mods that came with it (no intro, no sparkles) aren't working, and none of the mods I've downloaded seem to work either.

Hi there and welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately I do not have the sims 3 installed at the moment, though I do have a working backup of my mods folder. As far as I can remember, I did get the nointro and no sparkles working. This thread here is similar to yours. Perhaps you can check out the suggestion. Also, below is from my Resource.cfg:

Hey, so I re-installed Sims 3 again and my mods folder is working for me. Though i only tested the nointro and nosparkles of course. I used the folder provided at ModTheSims, since I wanted to test it with a completely new folder.

Hi, thanks for replying. The Mod Framework I downloaded was from this site in the pdf .Package guide. It's sitting in Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 and appears to have all the stuff it's supposed to have. I tried removing the two mods it came with like was suggested in in the thread you linked, but that didn't work for me unless the other mods I tried don't work either, but you said yours work so it must be something else. Are you using the Ultimate Fix? I read somewhere on these forums before I went to sleep earlier that it is having problems with mods or something. I'll look for it again because I was pretty exhausted when I read it and so I can't remember exactly what it said. Found it again and that was the Origin 1.69 version with the Ultimate Fix, which is not what I'm using, so I guess that's not the problem.

According to me, that should not be in Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 but in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.

That was it. I must have misread the location in the guide when I was half asleep yesterday. Both of you, thanks so much for helping.
