Cant start up the Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Hey guys,
so Ive been playing the Sims 4 (I had it working with the last update being the City Living update). Last night I wanted to update my game with all the new EPs. So I downloaded Toddlers, vampires & bowling stuff, Parenthood, Fitness stuff and Toddlers stuff and installed it all in the correct way.
But now whenever I try to start up the Sims 4 (as administrator) it shows in my task manager for 30 seconds or something, than briefly (like for 2 seconds) opens the Sims 4 window (not the entire window, like only the upper part) and than closes everyting. After this it isnt visible in my task manager anymore either.
I've also applied the "The Sims 4: "Error Code 3" & Game starts (unexpectedly) in Spanish - fix" but I didn't think this was my problem.
Im playing on Windows 10
I've tried running it in 32 bit and 64 bit (my system is 64 bit) but it wont work either way
Anyone has a clue how I can fix this?
EDIT: I've also changed the Game folder in program files/the sims 4 like it said in the guide, I did however notice that the Game folder contained more files before (while I was playing up uptil City Living), I dont know if this has something to do with The Sims 4 not working?

Hi there and welcome to the forum~
Do you have any mods by chance? I'd suggest testing the game with a fresh Sims 4 folder instead. Simply renme the current one in Documents to sims4backup and then run the game as administrator.
Instead of the error code 3, try placing this new game folder. Rename your current to Game_ OR delete it before placing the new one.

This is currently the contents inside my Game folder:

Re: Cant start up the Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Thanks for your reaction, for some reason I fixed it myself by throwing the Sims 4 ultimate fix into the folder (https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t18086-the-sims-4-ultimate-fix) but now it wont load any packs (when I go into create a sim and try to select an outfit from a pack it says 'You do not own this content')
EDIT: I just read that the ultimate fix destroys all packs, ****... Do i have to place every pack back in like i initially did or is there an other way to fix this?

Re: Cant start up the Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Hi @Janneke
That's because the ultimate fix will delete your DLCs. Try placing these files to your Game\Bin instead and see if that helps.

Else, take a look at this topic here if both does not work, you need to re-install your game again.

Re: Cant start up the Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Thanks, the 2nd option worked (replacing the RldOrigin file), but now my game is in Spanish. I can just use the fix I mentioned in my initial post again I assume?

Sorry if my reply came late. Yes you can use the Error Code 3 fix as well.
Feel free to open a new topic should you have any other questions/bugs in-game.
Till then, cheers and have fun~!
