Cannot create a new game. [SOLVED]

Hello G4TW team and thank you for your hard work 
I have a little bit of an issue in my game - whenever I try to create a new game through the main menu, the game always spawns my newly created family in the old game saves (You can see how this can be a problem if you want to start in a fresh new world). I've read around the internet to find a fix and apparently this glitch can be easilly solved via the 'repair game' option on one's Origin account, but given that I acquired my game through this wonderful site, naturally I have no Origin account with a legitimate copy of The Sims. So if anyone knows how to fix this issue, I'd be very grateful
PS: in case this is important information - I have all the G4TW downloads up to Toddler Stuff and have been using the game without encountering any other glitches so far.

Hi @tin_min,
When choosing a new game, did you click on the play button or the new game button itself? Just double-checking since I know of some people who accidentally presses the play button instead. Also, if you happen to have any mods?CCs, do try taking them out and see.
By loading and old save game, does that mean that it was from a backup copy or that you meant it just loads your last save household instead?
Our 'repair' method is actually to re-install every pack again, so I don't think you should do that for now. Try instead to go to the Sims 4 base game unrar, and click The_Sims_4_Setup.exe , then followed by Repair. It's not Origin-Repair but still can fix up some corrupted files from your games.

Yes, I did use the New game option (a few times) and it just drops my newly created sim in the world of my last save. Like how it would drop the sim in a newly created world, but instead this new sim is now forced to live alongside the sims I'm trying to ditch
I'll try it again without mods to see if that works and share the result.

LOL it seems that your family does not want you to ditch them. The game can sense these things. What happens if you rename your saves folder and see if you're able to create a new game? That means your game won't detect any saves at all.

YAY!!!! That fixed it!
Tried turning off custom content in the game options, removed the mods folder entirely, but neither worked. Renaming the save folder, though, turned out to be the actual solution!

Ah but it means your saves will be gone though. But you can transfer them back to the new save folder. Haha.

I just did, except they don't show in my game now (there no create game and load game options in the main menu) but I'll try to work around it 
Edit: They showed up - just had to move the first sim of the new world in a lot.

Good to see it got detected. I'll keep this topic open for the moment in case you have anymore problems/bugs in-game.
Do update me if everything is now 'peachy'. LOL.

Played for a couple of hours, tried the old saves and created new ones. The game works great again, so feel free to close this topic at any time
