AGING DISABLED

When I first downloaded the toddler stuff it was all working fine until I realized my sims were not aging at all. Whenever I go to the simspan its just blank no matter how long I play and it doesn't even show how long it is until they age up. Then upon trying to get one of my sims pregnant is ALWAYS says she was unable to get pregnant. I tried going to the gameplay in the settings and seeing if maybe id turn something off but the lifespan options aren't even clickable. I've uninstalled everything multiple times to see if it was something id done but I can not figure it out, usually, i just wait until someone else has the same issue but I, myself have not seen anything similar so I made an account just to ask.
