Considering that code indicating dogs and cats has already been found in the game, I'd say that Pets will indeed come. 
ALso, the console game version has already been announced, why would they announce it again?

Thanks for verifying that, i didnt think to look it up lol. and what i said about consoles was me being afraid to get my hopes up. Im so sick of console, console, console announcements and silence on the pc front. well... now we have a toddlers announcement but still its rather disappointing.

Seasons would be great, not sure which one i want more. but sims 4 feels so limited compared to sims 3, i fear seasons might be disappointing. but we can hope lol

Well. Pets aren't controllable in real life either. So let's see how if it will work. If people will complain, they'll "fix" it like they did it with the alien pregnancies and make things duller.

But I'm glad that the pets will be so customizable. I want to make a sims version of Josie and the Pussycats, so I will have no problem making Sebastian the cat.

We are not making Create a Style for Sims. The color wheel you see has been created exclusively for TS4 Cats & Dogs create a pet feature.

Cats & Dogs is just an added bonus. lol

The color wheel should have been used for the hair of the sims. that would give us so many options...

hopefully people will beg for more creative customization for sims themselves, and we get something further in the future. but i guess as of now it's a big NO. lol

In the whole 'GIMME SEASONS AND PETS!!!!11' craze, I was more seasons; meaning I'm not not excited, but I'm more just like... OK, cool. Although, this announcement did remind me to give my IRL doggy a big hug and an extra treat.

As with everything else "around" The Sims 4, could have been some new and fancy marketing trick fresh from business schools: make everything secretive, keep everybody in the dark, then announce the new DLC with a big bang and make it look as if you discovered some new World Wonder or the Holy Grail.

It's not just the mere announcement of the new DLC, but also about the 'packaging' these days. It has to be an event-like celebration. See also the entire social media-usage, and also the venue that was chosen for the announcement (@Gamescom 2017).

I'm guessing we will more than likely see seasons in november 2018. i feel with 90% certainty that if we dont, the community will have a meltdown, and EA wouldnt want that.

Indeed, but don't worry. We'll get cricket, golfing, sewing, BBQ, pet costums, etc stuff packs till then.

If Seasons isn't  a Weather Game Pack I will literally commit suicide.. Seasons has not that many features and could amazingly fit in a game pack. And not a  lot of work too, even a modder made a winter mod some years ago. I would be very disappointed if seasons AND university come as EPs.

Right?  Seasons would be better as a game pack since Sims 4 isn't an open world. Wouldn't be any need for it to be a full-blown expansion pack, as well as University.

I really want cars update so bad but guess I already gave up.

That's good to know, but the features are far less than even The Sims 2 Pets. In The Sims 2 Pets, Pets can have jobs, 3 available jobs and I like them all. Also it has a new life state, Werewolves. Meh, I'm just going to wait for G4TW to provide the cracked version once it is released

I would honestly prefer pets like Bby Dragons and gryphins and what not compared to cats and dogs. I personally love Dragon Valley for Sims 3 because of the fact that it adds baby dragon pets to the game but I would love for them to expand upon it and give us a few more fantasy/midevil style pets.

I can't lie and say that the aspect of finally having pets in the Sims 4 is not exciting but kinda a wee bit let down you can't direct them, but as stated before, pets are not like that in real life. (My dog Tali is living proof of that  ). But I am happy they finally did decide to implement pets... and that Vet career sounds pretty fun too. I do miss the idea of pet jobs from the Sims 2 though.

I think it's really cool that we can manage and be a vet. Hope the gameplay for that is good (more like Restaurants than the Get to Work stuff). 
Customising pets wiil be nice, then I can make my dog in sim form!

But yeah. I really want a season's game pack and more vacation packs.

There's a huge rumour going on that rain might be added in a patch. "It's raining cats and dogs," being one of them. In game hints about crossing pets and seasons. The girl in the trailer stomping in a puddle. To me, though, the most obvious one is the huge spec upgrade for the expansion, indicating a massive change to the engine. I doubt cats and dogs are the reason for that.

I can see rain coming in a free patch similar to the lighting overhaul they did in the past.

lmao I like controllable pets in The Sims 3 the best. Whenever my Sim's dog started wanting to chew the expensive chair, I could just cancel the action and direct the dog to the chew toys. When I got bored, I could send my Sim's dog to the park and make them bark and pee on anyone there. Also, pets in The Sims 3 can harass the Grim Reaper.
