SIMS 3: REGISTRATION CODE?

Hello,
I've been having some trouble downloading The Sims 3. I downloaded the torrent from the Pirate Bay and finished installing it using PowerISO. I encountered an error near the end of the installation, however, saying something like "...error number: 0x80040702, description: failed to load DLL: DSETUP. Setup will now terminate." Upon re-running the Sims3Setup.exe, the installation went fine and completed with no problems - up until I pressed the play button. The registration code I had used apparently wasn't working. I tried to disable the internet connection while entering it, but the launcher told me I was required to have it on. I also tried using a keygen; however, the ten to twenty codes it gave me did not seem to help.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
The registration code shouldn't be mistaken for a serial key. A registration code only comes with legal games and is only needed to register with EA. You don't need it to play.
The base game has a crack which you should apply to get past this.
Are you using any expansions at this time?

Hello,
Ok make sure to use the crack from the base game, but note that you can't update the game. A better idea is to get the fix, which requires Pets, Generations or Town Life stuff. The only downside to this is that the fix is unavailable at this time and Admin is looking for a new filesharing website.

Open the #crack folder and copy-paste both files to your The sims 3 base game\bin.

The folder named "Crack" contains "rld-sim3" and "TS3" (which has "The Sims" icon), when I tried to copy and paste the contents or the folder into "Game">"Bin">"bin", it said this: "Cannot copy rld-sim3: Files on this CD-ROM drive are read-only. You cannot copy or move files over to this CD-ROM drive."

They should be copied to the game\bin in your install directory, which, if you used the default path, is C:\program files\Electronic arts\The Sims 3\ game\bin.
Still, I think its best to get the fix in combination with either Town Life Stuff, Generations or pets (or Master Suite stuff, which G4TW will release soon). That way your game will be up to date. You can get the fix from the alternative downloadlink on this page.
Let us know if you need any guidance, or questions answered.
