Sims 3 Registration Code

After following the instructions on how to install, update and crack the game using the Sims 3 Complete Collection that I got from this forum, I installed, updated and cracked only the base Sims 3 game. Wanting to verify it worked before putting further hours into it, I launched the game and got a pop-up "Enter your Registration Code here ... Please enter the entire Registration Code found either in your confirmation email, your game manual/product packaging, or game card." and it was pre-populated with the code I pasted out of the instructions, without the dashes. I proceeded to put in the other two, only to get the popup continue demanding a code. I went online and found a keygen and dumped about a half-dozen into it. It has two buttons: Done and Don't Continue. Nothing worked, so I finally hit Don't Continue and got "Important Message! The registration code is invalid for this product. Find your registration code ..." and that was that.

So it seems that EA slipped a mickey into the updater that was packaged with the complete collection I found here, preventing keygen codes from working.

Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Sorry to hear about your negative experience (thus far), but EA did not slip anything into our downloads. Smile

The error you are getting is due to the game attempting to verify the (pirated) serial number from the instructions, with online servers from EA. It cannot by bypassed by simply entering the serial number from the instructions.

However, what you can do here is to at least one of the other expansions or stuffpacks. See the steps #3 to #5 here:

Unfortunately, due to how the game works, you cannot have "just" the base game, with that Ultimate fix. In theory, you could apply the so-called "temporary fix" here. But the problem with that is, if you later on decide to add on more expansions, you may forget to remove the mod again. It will cause you problems if you have both that temporary fix and the Ultimate fix.

Hence we typically suggest following those steps in the "Must-read" guide that I linked to above, the one with the 5 steps. Good luck !

So instead of stopping to verify, I should have just carried on and installed everything I was going to install and it would have been okay. And I suppose writing up a firewall exception to stop TS3 from calling home might be a good idea, too.

The step with the firewall should not be necessary though. The modified TS3W.exe and the TSLHost.dll files (i.e. the "Ultimate fix") already prevent the game from calling home. But if you like, then sure, go ahead and block that thing in the firewall. It doesn't hurt anyway. Smile
